It was getting hot here in Kuwait.
Splashing some cold water on my hot face, I got back to work.
I whipped the cream wildly, pouring my anguish in that poor paste.

But it came out to be more thick and dense.

Perfect!

With a victorious smile, I added orange food color to the whipped cream and commenced the frosting.

Wow

Assembling the cakes, Becky came in to take them.

I slumped on the stool, and sighed.
It was really hot today.
I looked down at my shirt that clung to my drenched body.

Fu**

I transpired out of the kitchen while taking off the cap and loosely wrapped the scarf. I sat on one of the vacant tables that was immediately under the AC unit.

He loves your eyes

I shook my head at the stupid thought and sighed.

'You need anything?', Becky whispered while coming closer to me.

I shook my head and fumbled with my phone.

I still had time.

But my peripheries protested and I wondered what more I had done to earn that. It was a usual day. Nothing more nothing less.

A coffee landed on my table and I looked up at Becky.

'You seem low.', she stated and ran back  to work.

It was lunch time.
Peak hour for the customers to pour in.
I looked around to see my regular crowd having their munchies.

I felt eyes on me and gazed past the glass doors only to come across green orbs.

A two feet red head looked straight at me with swollen eyes and red nose.
She looked down at my untouched coffee and gulped.

She found my gaze again and stuck her nose against the door.

I smiled at her and she reciprocated.
I blinked at her to come inside and she obliged.

'Hey! Go back.', Jade yelled at her.

How dare he?
He earned my deadliest glare and quickly hopped behind the corner.

He was paid to act lenient with his customers. Moron! Doesn't he like his job..?

She came up to me with flushed cheeks.
Gosh! She was dehydrated.

She hopped beside me and drank the coffee with dangling legs. Even her peripheries looked famished.

I signalled Becky and she quickly came up with two cake pieces.
Her eyes darted of their sockets at the sight before her and she looked up at me with wide eyes.

No matter how much I tried to push it back but she resembled my childhood.

She asked for permission and at my queue she quickly dugged in the piece.

He loves your eyes...

Shit
Where is it coming from?

I know he doesn't. He hates it. He hates my whole existence. And I loved the idea of his hatred for me and at the same time hated him.

Fu**
Why am I even thinking about him?
I need to stop it.

Someone kissed my cheek, bringing me out of my trance. Her mouth covered with orange frosting grinned at me, making me smile.

Cleaning her lips, I waved at her and she hopped out of the cafe.

Judging more crowd, I pushed up from the table and headed back to the kitchen.
