When you stopped wishing things wouldn't fall apart, you'd stop suffering when they did.
It's true that when we long for something we miss it when it's gone and that way we suffer a great deal when it is. But when we enjoy the things while they last and not forcefully try to hold onto temporary stuff, feelings for that matter, we can let them go and learn to find joy in other things. Just like the quote before, nothing in life is permanent - good or bad. And so we've got to enjoy whatever life throws at us.
