Human Name: Zacarías Rosales Ibarra

Gender: Male

Age: 20 Years Old

Before Statehood: The region was inhabited by many indigenous groups, notably the Caxcan and Zacatecos. The Spanish would first settle in the area in 1531, however, the indigenous revolts forced the Spanish to abandon their first settlement. In 1548, deposits of silver were found in the region, invigorating the Spanish to resettle the land as a province of Nueva Galicia. In 1586, King Philip II of Spain named the city, Nuestra Señora de los Zacatecas. After the Mexican War of Independence ended in 1821, Zacatecas formally became a Mexican state in 1824.

Statehood: December 23, 1823 (10th)

Hair Color: Coal Black

Eye Color: Silver

Notable Traits: Lightly tan skin. Typically, he wears a baggy, long-sleeved shirt and a pair of brown suspended pants (they're usually smudged with dirt from working in the mines). He wears a silver cross pendant. He usually carries around an iron pickaxe. He tends to blush a lot.

Favorite Foods/Drinks: Asado de Boda (aka 'Wedding Stew'), Biznaga Cactus Candy, Colonche (alcohol), Condoches (a type of gordita), Zacatecas-Style Birria (goat stew)

Favorites: Archery, Baroque Architecture, Callejoneadas (aka Alleyway Parties), Mexicapan (dance), Tamborazo Zacatecano (music)

Personality: Humble and Tender. This young man has a heart made out of silver: pure and honest. Despite centuries of jaded work in the mines, he continues to hold a sense of duty to his labor, constantly overworking himself to the bone. Indeed, he's generous and kind to a fault, and his fellow states can't help but feel soft whenever they're around him. Overall, he'll make anyone feel at home.
