on a peaceful afternoon, where the sun shines hot but the wind blows cold that made the tree leaves dance lazily, i was sitting alone on a bench at the back of our school building.

when a stranger randomly said, "why would destiny introduce me to someone i'd fall for, and show me they weren't for me? it's too cruel... and heartbreaking."

i just looked at her, feeling sympathetic.

i couldn't tell her the realization that ran through my head. it wasn't destiny's fault we'd fall. and it wasn't our fault either.

it was our own expectations and fairy tales that led us to our own heartbreaks.
