And there I am
The face
That stares back at me
And has
All my life
Since my birth
Into this world
I've had the same face
The same mind
Always been the same person
Inside
When I look at the mirror
No matter my hair, clothes, situation
I've always been there
All my curves and edges
The shape of my existence
When it's change
It's remained the same
Inside
The getting ready in the morning
Getting prepared to show myself
To the world
The teary-eyed moments
Rushing to the bathroom
Trying to not look a wreck
Where I've ever been walking
Where I've travelled
Places I've been to
The glass has proven
To follow me around
Show that my face
Is there
The same face
If I tape up all my mirrors
To never get to see my face
Because it's all the same
The same body
That I live in
To be reminded of it every day
Is the reoccurring cancer
But even if I tape them all up
I'll still always see the silhouette
Of my curves and edges
In the water
In any glass
In the cold metal
You can never escape
Who
You
Are
