It's been so long
Since we've talked
I miss it.
Talking, sharing, communicating
Just isn't the same
Without you on the other side
Listening and responding
We met on the river
We could see each other
In the distance
The opposite currents
Flow us together
And slowly but surely
I started to hear you
It took ages
For me to finally see you
And finally talk with you
For you see, on this river
I had nothing
Not anyone to talk to
And socialising
Just being able to speak words
And being able to know
That somebody's listening
Somebody cares
Somebody gives a fuck
About what you have to say
That was everything
But now the currents are drifting us apart
I don't see you anymore
I try shouting your name
No response
And as much as I scream
I get fewer and fewer words in response
I'm just hoping
That one day
The currents will change
And we will drift back together
I want to talk to you
I want to always be there
With you
I love whenever you're around
I want to talk to you
But you don't
You're drifting away
On purpose
You're making the river
Pull you away from me
And I'm not strong enough
To pull the currents and come back
And besides,
What's the point
If you just want to leave me anyway
We had such a connection
But now I hear no more than a few words
Echoed in the distance
It's okay if you don't love me
It's okay if you have to go
It's okay if you've had enough from me
It's just that you left
And I'm begging
To know why
It's been too long
Without you
I really really really
Really really
Really
Really really
Want you back
