Desert Flower

Desert Flower

Amidst this insufferable place

Lost among sand dunes

Where footprints once paced

While the sun shone like a thousand doubloons

There stands a desert flower

A symbol of strength for all

Becoming a beacon of power

To find those who lose their way by nightfall

It refuses to wilt against the heat

Its colors remain vivid and loud

A flower with a will that can't be beat

And makes the barren land proud

It holds its petals high

Like a coyote facing the moon

Pollen scatters across the desert sky

As the wind sings an airy tune

This flower calls out with its fragrance

A sweetness that travels far

Striving for the chance

To reach the weary wherever they are
