The quarterbacks are decent hecking people, and try to 'help' out the needy kids to come out their shell, which accidentally makes them recede further inside their shell.
Butters isn't one of those 'pastel innocent uwu' kids that you must 'protect'. He and Tweek can both stand up for themselves, they just chose not to.
