-heavy panting-
-heavy panting-
She swiftly slid herself behind a pillar as soon as the monster was distracted by the smoke bomb with lingering paralyzing effect.
She glanced at the top right corner of her screen.
Dammit my HP is going down fast…
Her fingers trailed a deep cut on her left thigh that wasn’t healing.
It’s poisoned…
She grunted before scrambling on her storage items for any sort of potion that could be of help but unfortunately she didn’t find any.
A thundering roar of the monster was heard behind her. It sounded angrier than before.
Another string of curses escaped from her mouth.
Idiot.
She was scolding herself for rushing things and underestimating the floor boss. This is so unlike her. She wasn’t prepared to take it on single handedly but due to certain circumstances she had to push her luck which led her to this mess.
That woman… It’s all her fault. I should’ve not listened to her.
She was trapped in this room because she had to trust that backstabbing leech again.
She didn't finish pouring her wrath out when she sensed an incoming attack.
It already found her.
The monster stirred its humongous tail right on the pillar and the impact tore it into shreds. She was seconds away from getting smashed like a bug but she managed to leap to safety.
She was surprised to see that the monster was once again wagging its tail as if she had not cut it off moments ago.
I see… It is capable of self-generating.
She took a glimpse of its hit points that once again on full bar.
She cursed.
There’s no way she could beat this monster now. Especially with a poisoned wound that was taking a lot of damage and crippling her leg.
I guess I have no choice but to use it…
She was still hesitating. Using rare items was always a hard decision to make.
She’s a collector. It was one of the major reasons she was playing the game. It became her ultimate quest to discover all collector’s items within the game.
Though when her HP falls to 10% she instantly retrieves one of the most precious items on her collection and a translucent pearl materialized on her palm.
The item can cancel out the entrapment effect of the room and she could escape the floor boss and be transported on any random lower floor without losing any item from her storage. It was a very useful and convenient item. Too bad it was the last of its kind.
I can’t afford to be defeated and lose everything we work hard from the beginning.
She placed the pearl on the floor the moment she gained a safe distance from the rampaging monster with a pure red cursor.
Someone’s counting on me…
This is not just a game anymore.
She paused for a moment, looking at the monster’s eye.
There was a dead air between them.
The monster stood silently as if understanding.
“See you soon.”
She muttered before crushing the pearl with her heels.
The shattered pieces shone brightly and the monster roared before lunging towards her.
Every stomped of its heavy feet vibrated across the room and shook the ground beneath.
But she was already gone.
