Oscar's PoV

It's barely morning but I'm awake. Sweat pours down from my aching forehead; a sharp flow of salty water dampening my neck. I breath heavily, chest moving erratically; my diaphragm pounding- contract, relax, contract, relax.

Another stream of water trickles down my face, only this time it's from my bloodshot eyes- the pain ricochetting like exploding bullets on a sandy plain.

I snap to attention, wiping away the trails of weakness and masking the phantom pain in my leg with another shot of painkillers.

My foot taps up and down, shaking and stuttering due to the uneven surface of the train. My stomach jolts, my breath deepening as I inspect the crumbling material of my seat.

A sharp screech sounds to my left, a sickeningly high noise made by the train slamming into the tracks.

Several more follow;the train slides to the right.

I try to not wince; longing to maintain an expression of pure strength.

I cough quietly and tangle my fingers into Tuckers long fur, grazing my hand gently along the curve of his strong spine. He lets out a little, 'wuf' in appreciation and I laugh- despite it all.

Rain pounds onto the top of the carriage- pinging off of the surface like small bullets. I look at the peeling posters all around me- desperate for some sort of distraction.

Something catches my eye.

It's an advertisement for some sort of horror film, with the title displayed in bold italics. It looks dreadful- as most films do nowadays- but hilarious at the same time.
