I counted the seconds until someone answered the door. John smiled and greeted me.
"Good afternoon, (Y/N)."
I returned the smile and asked, "Is Sherlock home?"
John's eyebrows furrowed. "Don't you two usually not get along?"
"Usually, but I need to ask him something." I pushed my way into the flat and entered the living room, standing in front of the consulting detective. I sighed to announce my presence. "Sherlock, I was wondering if-"
"-if I could play the violin for your concert." he interrupted. I rolled my eyes as he continued. "I don't play for charities, (Y/N). Now go away."
"Now that your done showing off, could you please at least consider playing my opening show here in London?"
He fluttered open an eye and fixed it on my form. "You're only asking me because your original player, Josh," Sherlock grimaced as he said his name. "Quit for no reason, and you can't teach your sister in time for the show, so here you are."
I sighed and stared him down. "So will you help me?"
"No."
I frowned. "Why can't you just help someone out once in a while?" I started to rant. "I only ask you to rehearse a few times a week and then your full attention on the night of the concert."
Sherlock sat up and stared me down. "I don't do anything lower than a seven."
"What's that supposed to mean?"
"I rate my cases one through ten. I'll anything higher than a seven, and your case is definitely a two; maybe a three," he explained.
I scoffed, turning towards the door. "I don't even know why I came over to convince you to help me. It was a lost cause anyway."
"Wait, hold on a second, (Y/N)," John butt in, dragging me back into the living room. His attention shifted to Sherlock. "Sherlock, we talked about this."
The consulting detective gave a grimace. "I didn't agree to that John."
"We agreed that you were going to start being nicer and helping people."
I snickered and Sherlock shot me a glare, and I shot one back. "I'm not going to be her violinist."
"Yes, you are."
"No, I'm not!" Sherlock shouted.
"You know what?" I shouted back. "I never wanted to ask you in the first place! You're such a stuck up snob who only thinks for himself and how he can get ahead instead of stopping and helping others." I took a deep breath. "Good day, John," I whispered.
I went up the stairs to my flat, the sound of the door closing causing (S/N) to pause her show. "How was it?" she asked.
"It sucked," I replied, slipping off my shoes. "I told you Sherlock wasn't going to help me."
"At least you tried?" she asked. I shrugged my shoulders.
"I guess this just means I change my setlist for my show. No violin."
(S/N)'s eyes went wide. "But most of your songs have a violin in them. You can't just change them out now."
"I have to." I sighed. "I'll talk to you in the morning."
"Goodnight, Y/N)."
Entering my bedroom, I shut the door as a tear rolled down my cheek. Everything was falling apart so quickly. Sitting at my desk, I started my computer and turned on my camera, pressing record. The least I could do is update my followers about the situation.
Taking a moment to prep myself, I started talking to the camera. "Hey guys," I started and took a deep breath. "Today's been rough. You all know my violinist, Josh. He was planning on playing with me on tour and at the opening concert, but he can't anymore. I'm trying to look for a new violinist, but so far nothing has been successful." I smiled softly. "However, just because this is a setback, doesn't mean I'm postponing the tour. I will be going on tour as scheduled, with or without a violinist. That's all for now." I turned the camera off and began to upload the file.
Hopefully tomorrow things will turn around.
I know that you don't want me here.

A.N: Hey everyone! It's been awhile since I updated Keys and Strings, and I got motivated to write the second chapter. I hope you all are enjoying so far.
Sorry this chapter is short, but I feel it establishes the relationship between Sherlock and the Reader thus far. In later chapters, the Reader's feelings will evolve and it won't be what it is above anymore.
Please comment, vote, and share with your friends!
Until next time,
~Em
