I chased after my friends who insisted on their forward March to the busses."Morgan what did you get on your test? I got an 80." Emily pouted
I smiled knowing she will laugh in my face once she learns that she did better than me. "I got an 83." I said, you know, like a liar. She huffed and went onto the bus. I went to follow but I noticed a blue car, about 5 seats, with two people inside. Staring at the kids, staring... at me. Call me crazy but I trust my gut more than my heart.
I really wanted to go on that bus to gloat about my fake test grade to Emily. But its better to be safe than sorry. I tapped Emily's window. She got up to pull it down.
"I'll see you later. My dad is around the corner." I smiled waving. Thank goodness she believed me. I began to walk to opposite direction of the car. I walked out of the school's campus. I payed attention as cars passed by me on the road, hearing sudden stoping and going of a car behind me. A car suddenly parked next to me and I looked quickly and turned back around.
"Little girl? Where are your parents?" They asked in the same blue car that waited outside the school. I began to panic.
"He- They are just around the corner."
"Do you want a ride over there?" The man smiled. He had a scruffy beard. His eyes were hooded and he was big. Bigger than my father.
"N-No its ok."
"We insist." Someone came up to grab me. As soon as my arm was touched I hit the stranger in the nuts and let out a gut wrenching scream.
"STRANGER STRANGER, THESE MEN ARE TRYING TO KIDNAP ME!"
A few people took notice even a police man. They went over to see the commotion. The men easily began to make quick work of the people. All I could do is run home.
I ended up on my front porch sobbing and banging on the door. I knew I was too fast for them to follow, but I was scared. My dad opened it in suprise and I ran into the house. I pulled him further in and slammed the door. He brought me onto the couch.
"School let out 3 minutes ago. The bus takes 15 minutes to get here." He asked furrowing his brows. His eyes became intense as he grabbed my hand. He pulled at my coat practically tearing the stitching. He yanked off a beeping disk and crushed it.
"He must have put it on me when he grabbed me." I sobbed.
"What did they look like?"
"They were big dark hair. They had... Some skull on their neck."
"Shit shit shit." He ran upstairs and came down with a backpack full of my stuff. "Morgan. Listen and listen carefully. When I give you the word you will run out of here and head towards Avengers Tower."
"I dont know how to get there! Whats going on?"
He gave me his special watch and showed me how to use the gps. The door was knocked on gently breaking the tension in the room. "Hide behind the couch." He whispered into my fear stricken eyes. He squatted down and wiped my cheek and helped me to calm down a bit. "It's going to be alright. Just stay quiet." When he let go I was able to take my own deep breaths.
He went to the door. I positioned myself to see what was there waiting for us.
"Did you miss me?" A feminine voice laughed. I couldn't see her face but I knew she wasnt someone my dad liked.
"What do you want? Came here to finally make use of that promise 13 years ago?"
"Ah, this isn't as fun without Brooklyn here. What happened to her again?"
