Happier - Castiel x Reader [Angst]

This may be a little angsty, I should put that as a warning. Also, there will be some mentioned Destiel.

Castiel meant a lot to (Y/n). To (Y/n), he was her sword and shield, her sun, her angel. To (Y/n), he was her everything.

When the morning comes

I think that we both know the way that the story ends

(Y/n) and Castiel would watch Netflix together, eat fast food together, talk about their adventures with the Winchesters, they both would even go on their own hunts. (Y/n) saw Cas as more than a friend. She tried to hide it but it was very obvious she had feelings for the angel. However, Castiel was oblivious to all the signs. Heck, Sam even knew you had a crush on him.

Then only for a minute

Know that means I'll have to leave

Every time (Y/n) was around him, she would have the urge to tell Castiel how she felt for him but was just too shy for him to know about them. Sam kept encouraging her to tell him but (Y/n) never budged to share. She was worried about if her feelings would ruin her relationship with the angel.

When the evening falls
And I'm left there with my thoughts
And the image of you being with someone
Well, that's eating me up inside
But we run our course, we pretend that we're okay
Now if we jump together at least we can swim
Far away from the wreck we made

  It was the day. The day (Y/n) was going to confess her feelings for Castiel.
  (Y/n) headed over to Castiel's room and noticed his door was slightly opened. As she peeked in the room, she saw Dean and Cas sitting on the bed. Kissing. (Y/n) turned away quickly from the sight and back to her room, covering her mouth from her sorrow whimpers. She was too late.

Then only for a minute

  A few days later after what (Y/n) witnessed, Dean and Cas announced that they were together to her and Sam.
(Y/n) was happy for them but at the same time, she felt regret and heartbroken. Every day, she would smile to show Castiel that she was okay. But every night, she would cry herself to sleep.

Castiel was her everything but she wasn't to him.
