The Quagmires and their companion Hector had mixed feelings (which is a word I will use yet again in this book that continues my search for the real V.F.D) about starting their journey to find the Baudelaire's and V.F.D. They were scared as to the many dangers they may face in the city. At the same time, they were also hopeful that they might be able to have a long awaited reunion with their long lost friends.

When Isadora Quagmire woke at 10am the next day she got up and took a peek outside the window of the deserted restaurant they were staying in. She woke everybody after she had prepared breakfast with the few ingredients that she could find in the restaurant.

"Wow Isadora, how'd you do that" asked Quigley. "Just a few things I found lying around" she replied. "Where is it that you said we were" asked Hector. "Lake Lachrymose" Duncan replied. All of a sudden Hector remembered the first time he had met the Baudelaire's in the Village of Fowl Devotees.

He remembered them walking back to his house as the children gave him a recount on their life after their parents died. Than he remembered when Klaus said "Then he threw Aunt Josephine into Lake Lachrymose for the leeches to eat". "That's it" Hector blurted.

"Their Aunt Josephine lived here on the edge of that cliff" he said, pointing to the tall, broken looking house on the cliff. "Before we leave we should search it to see if we find something to do with V.F.D" said Duncan. "Duncan's right" said Quigley. "Let's get going after we eat" decided Hector.

The four companions ate in silence for the next ten minutes, all thinking about what would come next for them. Once they had got all the stuff they had from the wreckage of the Hot Air Mobile Home, they set off to the house on the edge of the cliff. They knew the walk was too far and waited at the bus stop when they heard a voice call " Does anybody need a ride somewhere for a cheap price".
