Jacquelyn Sciezka, a brave member of V.F.D was waiting to be appointed as the new Duchess of Winnipeg. She had been deeply saddened by the death of her mother and had recently heard of a fire that had happened a few weeks ago in the Hotel Denouement from Frank Denouement.
She was deeply worried about the supposed missing Baudelaire's and the Quagmire's. She had been placed by both parents at Mulctuary Money Management, when they knew that they were being hunted by villains in case something happened to them.
Now because of the untimely death of her mother, one of the oldest members of V.F.D, she would have to return to Winnipeg and was forced to keep tabs on them through her good friend Larry. Of course the death of her good friend had pushed her into severe shock and depression.
She had also learned of the plan to prove Count Olaf guilty in the Hotel Denouement. According to the Judge in charge the Baudelaire's had just been declared missing along with Count Olaf. They had finally been proven innocent of all their crimes as well in an official trial with many witnesses.
Today almost all of V.F.D would arrive in Winnipeg to mourn the death of her mother as well as watch her be appointed as the new Duchess of Winnipeg. She had already held the occasion with her friends and family outside of V.F.D.
She had now invited everybody from the secret organization purposefully as Frank had told her that after the death of his brother he had retrieved a secret item from his library. He also said, he would bring for safekeeping. Jacquelyn knew it was the Sugar Bowl. He had also mentioned that he found "a surprise on the way" which she wondered about
Suddenly she heard the doorbell to the mansion ring. She looked into the security camera and was shocked. She saw her little sister. She sprinted to the front door and opened it up. There she was. Her little sister in her snow scout uniform from Prufrock Prep. Along with her was a familiar hotel manager. He was holding a bag that presumably contained the sugar bowl. "We need to talk" said Frank and her sister Julia in unison.
