Prologue

After a long five years, Nylin Miller, ex-goody-two-shoes, eighteen years old, a senior, is back. She turned into the shell of what she used to be. She experienced the darkest five years of her life with her mom--away from her brothers and father. What used to be a sweet and loving family, is now gone, replaced with mere memories of what used to be.

Samantha, Nylin's mom, was divorced by her now ex-husband because he caught her cheating, and it wasn't even the first time. With that said, James, Nylin's father, found a wonderful replacement for his last spouse, Laura. Nylin was caught in a crossfire in the custody battle her parents had. She was torn away from her twin brother Aiden and her older brother Ashdan.

The last five years had been nothing but pure torture and agony for Nylin. She experienced things she shouldn't have. She's gone through inhumane things that made her who she was today. All of this happened under her mother's care. Her mother whom she now hates more than anything in this world.

Now, she has a chance to be free. She has the chance to get revenge for all she had been inflicted to. All this, but she chose to finish her education. She's never stopped studying, and this new-found freedom isn't going to stop her from achieving her dreams. However, this freedom comes with danger. She's now being hunted down by Samantha's 'lover', the most powerful gang leader in the world, Joe McGuire.

Through the danger, Nylin struggles to find a way to stay alive. In desperate need of a safe refuge, she decided to go to the place she promised never to return to--her father's house.
