~Our First meeting~

dear ////

Do you remember me? It has been awhile, has it?
I miss you very much, you know that, right? I still love you, after what he did to me. Remember how we met?

sincerely, //////

Young Travis Valkrum, Age 10:

I was roaming around the castle halls, trying to find any ounces of fun. Yet, it was quiet and so peaceful, no one is up at this hour. It was dark outside, it's midnight. I yawn, making my way to my own bedroom. I heard a crash like someone is trying to attack another. As a child, like myself, I ran towards the sound because of my curiosity.

I have reached the room that the sound is coming from, but it's terrifying to see, it's coming from my parent's room. Shaking, I slowly opened the large oak doors, leaving a crack to see. I see my mother bleeding, in pain, from the head. I was about to run, just to aid her and find some kind of help for her. then I saw my father, in anger, marching towards her.

"You're a monster, I'm taking him with me. Away from you!" my mother struggled, as she was spoken up to him.

"You're not taking him away from me. I am taking you away from him." He said, drawing his sword out. welding it towards my mother, I knew from there I am not going to see her tomorrow morning. "Guards, take this pathetic woman away. Tomorrow morning we will tell my son of his mother passing."

I covered my mouth, the urge to vomit. I ran to my own room, bursting inside. Remembering what I have seen in that room, my father slashing his sword through my mother's skull. I quickly got an idea to run away from this place, running towards the closet. Hoping to find some kind worn out outfit to disguise me, but the only problem is my eyes and/or my hair. Finding a cloak, I wore the worn outfit. a torn up shirt, in a shade of gray, brown dirt pants, and over that a black cloak. It wasn't supposed to be matching, I have to look hopeless in order to play my part.

When I was about to place my hand on a handle to get out of this room, a note fell from the worn clothing. I pick it up and stuff it back in my pocket. It isn't time to look and read what the letter says, I have to get out before dawn. I place my hand on the handle, pulling it down to open it. trying to be sneaking and tiptoe out of the room I once called my own now. There was hardly night guards because no one wishes to get caught here. It was easy to get out of the castle to the yard. I ran toward the tree that hangs over the fence, it is also the same birch tree that my mother would sit and sing to me before her life was taken from her. Climbing up the tree, crawling on a branch that goes over the fence, jumping off to land on my feet. I ran.

I ran as far my legs could carry me until I couldn't feel them anymore. I loved my mother, how could he do this to me? What have I done to him to deserve this despicable outcome? Why was he my father to begin with?

After running, only Irene knows how long. I slow down, catching my breath and letting my tears run down. I ran through the forest, without a map, or anything to tell me which way to head now. I slowly walk, feeling sick to the bone, I collapse. Tears after tears, how bad I want to yell at the forsaken world, but what good will that do? I lost everything now. I am now homeless, I don't really have friends, cause I don't go out much. my father killed the only one that ever loved me, that's my mother, and now what?

I am never going back if they don't find me within a week, I know what will happen. I am declared dead or missing, it doesn't matter with they find me dead or alive. I am Travis Valkrum, the son of Enkie, the prince of the warlock. everyone would fear me then try to kill me, cause I am known as a horrid monster.

I don't want to be a monster, like my own father. Yet I have to deal with this, whether I like it or not. I stood up, walking towards a bush to stay out of this path. I found a beautiful sight. a waterfall that comes down as a lake in front of me. as flowers were spread in unique colors, trees that rustle as the wind blows through. sitting on the edge, seeing the water flows through like little crystals. I lay down next to a tree, exhausted to continue running. I want to be good if only my mother was here to help me through this.

good night mom

Then the darkness consumes me.
