Chapter 4

Aubrey's P.O.V

I started to run into the kitchen . Why was he coming after me . When I reached the kitchen I slid against the wall huffing and puffing . When I looked up I noticed that the chefs all stopped their work . All eyes were on me . "I'm sorry , I'll leave now , " I said stupidly walking out . Chris was waiting behind the counter with the mysterious man . "What happened? ," she asked crossing her arms . "I-uhh-thought-uhh-", I simply couldn't get the words to come out .

"What's wrong with you ? He simply just wanted a table ", Chris said scanning my face for answers . I lowered my head in shame , I'm such a coward . " I'm terribly sorry Daxton , she just started here today ", Chris stated shaking her head . " Really , how interesting ", the mysterious man smirked at me and winked , "well in that case I'll go easy on her ". I looked away so they wouldn't see how red my face got .

"O-okay well let me get you seated ", I studdered . As I walked him to his table , I could feel eyes burning into my back . "Here you are , would you like anything to drink " ? I strictly kept my eyes on the notepad . I refused to make any eye contact with this man . " Water , and I'm also ready to order cookie " . My eyes immediately shot up . " My name is Aubrey , and what would you like "? He scanned my face then continued to his order .

" Medium rare steak , mashed potatoes , and broccoli ," he smirked at me ," and tell the chief to make it quick , I'm in a hurry cookie ". I rolled my eyes as I headed back to the kitchen . I served other tables as well , but thoughts ran through my head about Daxton .' I checked back in kitchen for his order . When I reached his table there was nothing but an empty seat , $400 tip , and a note that read his phone number .

I put the money in the register and cleaned up the table . My shift ended and I clocked out . I started walking toward the hotel . As I was walking a black range rover pulled up . I stopped waiting patiently to see who it was , even though I already had a clue . The tinted window slid down to reveal Daxton's face . " Get in , I'll drive you home " , he said nodding his head . "No thanks , its just a few more blocks down " , I replied and started walking again . " It wasn't a question , it was an order ", I kept going pretending I didn't hear him .

It wasn't long until I heard a car door slam and I was swifted off my feet . He threw me over his shoulder as if I was nothing . " Put me down "! I screamed pounding as hard as I could on his back . I looked around to see if anyone would pull out a phone to call the police . They looked away . He was more powerful than I thought . He continued walking until we reached the car . He placed me into the seat and put my seat belt on for me . He closed my door and walked around to climb in . " What the hell is wrong with you ?!" , I yelled with anger . " Nothing " , he answered simply and started driving . " I didn't know it was normal to snatch people off the street , this is kidnapping " , I held my head rubbing my temples . "It's not kidnap if I'm taking you home " , he turned his face just to wink at me .

I gave him directions to the hotel . " This is where you stay "? He asked as we pulled in . " Yes ", I said tugging on the car door handle , "can you let me out now or did you wanna walk me to my room too ?" I turned to face him , but he was already scanning me . He gave me a 'watch it' look ."Well cookie before you leave I wanted you to know that I will be picking you up and dropping you off for work . Understood ?" , his piercing green eyes turned black . I nervously shook my head yes .

The locks opened and I bolted out of his car . I didn't turn back . I walked into the hotel and rode the elevator up to my room . I got straight in the shower . My mind was racing with thoughts . ' What does this Daxton guy want from me ' 'does he know my dad' is he out to get me' . I got out the shower and put on a big t- shirt . I crawled into bed still thinking . ' I'm gonna avoid him tomorrow ' I thought falling into a deep sleep .
