Chapter 2

Aubrey's P.O.V

I checked the time on my phone. It's been six hours since I left home. My feet were swollen and my stomach was growling. I dug in my bag for my wallet. I pulled out my American Express card i used for emergencies only. I looked around, until a fancy restaurant caught my eye.

I walked into high-class and charm. People were overly dressed, while I was in a cream sweater & tights. The restaurant had all glass , from the clear glass plates to the big glass windows. Roses where the tables centerpieces. A big chandelier in the middle of the ceiling. A girl with short black hair, green eyes , and an eyebrow piercing walked up to me. "Hey , my name is Christina but you can call me Chris, can I help you with something?", she smiled. I bit my bottom lip. I always had a bad habit of doing that either cause I was nervous scared or bored. I was nervous.

She looked like someone from out of a magazine. She at least stood at a good height of 5'7 while I stood at 5'2. She looked to be about 22. I was always accurate with ages & heights. I guess something I was talented with. "Hi, do you have any job applications?", I looked around the restaurant thinking my dad would pop up.

"Do you have any experience?", she asked. "Yes, I do" , I lied. "Great you can start tomorrow," she smiled but it faded as she took a second glance. "Hey , you ok?",her eyes focused on my bruised cheek. "I'm fine and I'd like to order take out", I lowered my head. After going over all the procedures and getting my uniform, food, and Chris' number. I found a near by hotel and rented a room.

I finished my take out and headed straight for the shower. I stripped down and turned on the water. It instantly relaxed my tense, sore muscles. I looked down and saw all the blood that was coming from my hair. I got out the shower and dried off. I put on an overly sized t-shirt and boy shorts and got in bed.

So many thoughts were running through my head. But sleep took over.
