I walked into my shop to see that it wasn't busy at all. Nicole was bored on the desk while Bre was sweeping. "Hey Ladies," I said taking off my sunglasses. "Hey Josie, your friends are in the lounge area," she said. "Okay thank you, is my 2:00 appointment still coming? I asked my assistant. "Yes and you have three interviews next Monday," she said. "Okay thank you, Nicole, you're the best," I said. I made it my mission to treat my employees with respect. I know how it felt to be broke, depressed and struggling to take care of yours when your manager didn't care. "You too Bre Bre," I said walking by. "Thanks, Josie" she smiled.
"Hey baby girl" My dad walked past carrying some boxes. I hired my dad to work part-time for me. He unboxed, stocked, and cleaned the shop for me. I didn't even have to ask he offered. Him working a few hours in the shop made us bond even more. I'm so thankful we're back on track, and grateful that he and Morgan are inseparable now.
"Bout time your bougie-ass made it," Erica said rubbing her belly. I laughed "So now I'm bougie baller wife?" I eyed her. Erica was 5 months pregnant and I was so happy for her, her break up with Adrian really put her down. They were high school sweethearts but now she's very much in love with Zel. He's a famous producer and ghostwriter for a lot of mainstream rappers out today. It's crazy how they met. Erica now works for the shade room but during that time she was interviewing model Slick Woods at Rihanna's Fenty event and Zel walked by; he eyed her up and down letting it be known he was checking her out. Erica didn't even notice until it was too late. The video went viral, Zel is an attractive man and his fans were not happy about it all. Anyways, she was interested they linked up the chemistry was there and boom my god baby "Zoey Laila Smith was on the way. Erica did worry a lot about if he would ever cheat on her because he's extremely handsome but Zel is humble and he's not worried about these women out here, only her. "Girl whatever" she laughed. I plopped on the sofa beside them. "So are you coming to my birthday turn up tonight or? Salem asked. "Yes, I'm coming. I need to turn up a bit and have some fun" I said. "I'm going too girl" Erica got up. "Sit your pregnant ass down, you know Zel ain't having it" I laughed. "Girl Zel doesn't control me," she said. Salem and I looked at each other laying Zel isn't controlling but he's super overprotective over her now that she's pregnant. Erica can't even touch her own fry. "Well my break is over, I gotta get back to the money" Salem said getting up. She's an editor for Elle magazine she hated it there she was trying to get into Ebony but they wouldn't hire her for some reason. "Okay see you later," I said. "I gotta go too, Zel is outside" she laughed
"Aww he's such a good guy" I smiled. "Yeah, I'm about to hear his EP he's been working on" she said. "Josie you have a visitor at the door," Nicole said. "Okay, I'm coming," I told her. I walked with Erica back to the main floor. "Be careful girl see you tomorr- I was shocked when I saw her. I gasped in shock I haven't seen this girl in 4 years. She took her sunglasses off looking around. Erica stood there for a second.
"H-hey" I smiled happily to see her. "Hey girl" she hugged me. "You look good" I let go of her. I looked down to see her son. I waved at him as he shyly waved back. "No, you look good mama. I heard about the shop and I decided to pay you a visit" she said. "I'm glad you're here" I nodded. I was glad she was here. Its always great to see someone you haven't seen in a while.
