Surround by a thick, dark woods, lay a clam village; overlooked by a grand castle, it was just as normal as any other village, all the kids went to school and played outside on the pebble stone roads, when it wasn't raining, all the streets were crowded by cute, little shops and cottages, and a river flowed calmly through the middle of it, bringing a fresh supply of water to all who lived there. This was Applestun Valley hidden far from any real realm; where mortals cannot find it; where most animals don't look so nice and friendly, and if they do you got to be extra careful; where spell books are just as common as fiction books; where full moons bring locked doors and strike fear into the simple village people. Of course like any other village would this one has its myths and legends, stories from far of lands intervening with the ordinary villagers; but what this village did not know was the sheer amount of damage and destruction it had in store, Applestun was in huge danger of it's the whole monarchy collapsing in on its self.

Corol, a young beautiful 9 year old girl who just so happened to live in Applestun Valley, she was daughter to the most popular baker in the village, up North, across the river, in The Centre (the busiest and largest area). Her papa was especially known and praised for his Pixie Buns -a rare kind of dough, leaving you feeling as light as a feather, if prepared right- he had mastered the skill and was practically a professional when it came to that specific type of bread; this popularity meant he was loved by the King and Queen themselves, and overtime, despite their differences in wealth, both families became very close friends. Corol was a 4 foot and 4 inch little girl, with curly blonde hair (that wasn't too curly it over powered everything) and soft lime green eyes with a tint of lilac, she wore her hair in a scruffy bun, loosely tied off with a ribbon that matched the purple in her eyes; most days she would wear a white blouse under a beautiful, simplistic grey pinafore and white frilled socks with black, shinny T-barred, buckled shoes. The blouse, pinafore and black shoes were basic requirements for the village's school system, so on the days Corol did not find herself in school or serving customers in the family bakery, she wore a blueberry blue dress, with a white apron fastened around her waist, that her mum had made for her, her hair was styled half up, half down with a blue ribbon to hold it in place; on her feet she wore white lace stockings -that just came past her knees- and little brown, leather boots. She had a younger brother, who she adored to boss around and send out on deliveries now and then, but when push came to shove, she loved him dearly and would have quite happily put up a fight to protect him any day. He also had curly, blonde hair and soft green eyes -however his were more of a teal colour than a lime. If her brother wanted to annoy Corol, or if she got in trouble, she would have been called by her full name: Coroline, but Corol was a sweet, innocent girl who rarely ever got in any trouble.

Tabitha, or Tabby -to her best friend-, was a 9 year old girl who lived in the grand castle overlooking Applestun Valley, she lived her childhood being greeted as Princesses this and Princesses that and was quite happy when she was able to just be a 'normal' girl when she was with her true friends. Of course her parents (the King and Queen) were well known, and she didn't have any siblings, so most of her company was the maids helping around her; the family quite regularly had visitors who would sit in the lounge drinking tea with her parents, she was allowed anything she wanted but for her the thing she wanted could never happen; she wanted her family to be like every other family, and spend time together, other than meal time. Tabitha had quite prominent ringlets in her dark brown, practically black hair, which (unless attending a social do) was always half up, half down, tied with a golden ribbon, her eyes where a sharp crystal, shade of emerald and she was a dainty 4 foot 3.5 inch little girl. She was dressed in a spectacular white blouse underneath the same plain pinafore that all the girls had to wear for school, on her feet she wore lace stockings, that had a small gold bow on the back and reached just below her knees, all finished off with an immaculate pair of black, shinny T-barred, buckled shoes. However when she was not in school she had several outfits she would wear as everyday clothes (not her riding gear or the outstanding dresses she had for balls and fancy dinners, just her everyday wear), but out of all of them she knew exactly what her favourite was; a pastel purple dress, that had a white lace pattern, little white ballet shoes and white frilled, ankle socks.

Both girls had completely different looks on life but were the closest of friends, one longed for the riches that other had and the other longed for the close knit family, but put the differences aside and the girls joked they could have been siblings they loved each other that much. Each morning before school they would get up early and make a large batch of buns together in Corol's family bakery and then take the 'spares' to school, before all that they would run and hug one another as soon as they could see each other. To separate them was like trying to separate glue from paper and those days they didn't have school, the girls found a way to get together.
They were most likely the closest friends in the whole village, they had known each other since when they were born and have grown up and experienced nearly everything together.
