My Life As A Hybrid Vampire

Chapter 1

I checked the time. It was exactly 11:00 o'clock at night. Perfect. I looked out my window and waited for Jake to come pick me up.

Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Renesmee Carlie Cullen. I am a half human half vampire hybrid. And, I am currently sneaking out. You see, my parents are very protective of me. My bedtime is no later then 10:00 o'clock, I can't be out of view from house without parental supervision, and I'm not allowed to go to school. My father, Edward, can read minds, so secrets and lies in this family didn't really work out to well. I desperately tried to control my thoughts. I didn't want anything, ruining this night with Jake.

Jacob told me we would be going to a campfire tonight. We wouldn't be telling old tribe stories, Jacob told me it was because some members of the tribe were getting tired of them, but I saw right through him. It was because they didn't feel comfortable telling them with a vampire in their mist. Even if that vampire was half human.

"Nessie?" Jake called.

"Right here Jake. Hold on I'm coming down." I said. Lucky for me there was a perfect climbing tree right outside my window, my room was on the second floor, and although Jake had assured me time and time again, I wasn't taking any chances. I reached out of my window and climbed down the tree. My foot slipped on one of the branches though, and I tumbled through the air holding in a scream. Jake caught me flawlessly and although it was dark, I could tell he was struggling to hold back laughter, and he was failing epically at it.

"You such a klutz like your mom." he teased.

"Oh shut up!" I hissed. I hated being compared to my parents, and that happened often. Usually I would just let it go, but with Jake it was different. He knew how I felt about it. Jake knew all of my secrets. We've been best friends for as long as I could remember.

"Get on my back." he whispered.

"Aren't you gonna turn into a wolf first?" I asked.

"No time for that, the camp fire already started." he said.

"And who's fault is that?" I rolled my eyes.

"Yours for telling me to pick you up at 11:00."

"Yeah, but I was waiting for like 5 minutes." I said matter of factly.

"Oh whatever! God your stubborn, you are just like you mo-nevermind." he stopped mid sentence when I shot him a death glare.

I hopped on his back and he ran through the forest. I probably could have ran if I wanted to. Jake used to give me piggy backs all the time when I was younger. But technically, I was still young. I was only five in human years, but I looked like I was 15.

I don't think Jake minded either. He liked to hold me. Whenever I was with him, our skin was almost always touching. Not that I cared though. It was a nice feeling when I was with Jake, I knew he wouldn't let anything hurt me.

We arrived in Lapush about fifteen minutes later, and I got a wonderful greeting.

"Ahh, Jake are you stuck babysitting again?" Paul teased. I rolled my eyes.

"Big words for someone with such a tiny brain." I said back.

"Really? How old are you Nessie? 3? With your parents watching every single move you make. If I were you I would sneak out and have some fun for a change! Who has tiny mind now?" he asked.

"I'm here aren't I?"I smirked at him.

"Way to go Ness!" he gave me a high five, although I had to jump to reach it.

"Okay, who is up for a race?" Quil asked. Everyone said yes and the guys, plus Leah, went into the forest to shift into their wolf forms. Once they were done we all got into a line, and Billy called go. I sprinted as fast as I could. The finish line was Sue at the fire pit, and Jacob, Embry and Sam had already made it there. I was so close but me, being the klutz I am, tripped on something. It was my instinct to grab something while I was airborne. Only it happened to be Leah's fur. She immediately stopped and growled at me. Within seconds, Jacob was at my side growling back at her. Sam had already shifted back.

"Leah, enough. Jacob, calm down." Sam being the alpha of his tribe made Leah listen, she physically had to do what she was told. She stomped back into the forest, and I didn't see her come out.

Jacob on the other hand, was a different story. He was the alpha of his own tribe that consist of him, Seth, Quil and Embry. Leah used to be a part of his tribe. Once my mum gave birth to me and everything was as normal as can be, she left to go back to Sam's.

I didn't blame her for being nasty all the time though. I could only imagine how it felt to have your boyfriend dump you for your cousin and have to watch them be together all the time. Plus having to hear the thoughts he thought about her. If that were me, I would probably leave myself to die in a hole. Jacob transformed back and ran over to me right away.

"You okay?"  he asked with concern in his voice.

"Yeah, fine why?"  I asked. He raised his eybrows at me.

"Were you here five seconds ago?" he asked.

"Honestly Jacob, I'm fine. It was my fault for pulling Leah's... ah... fur."  I said.

He smirked.

"I should probably get you home now." he said.

"Why we just got here?"  I asked.

"Because we showed up so late that its already over and we gotta go on patrol." he said.

"Fine."  I hopped on his back and he ran back home.

If only I knew that things would get so much worse
