Chapter 11

"Even though I don't know her, it feels like Rachel is guiding us to the truth..." Max said after a short pause in the conversation. "Fuck the truth, I just wanna find my 'friend' right now... It scares me to think where she could be... Do you think she's...? Chloe said, momentarily pausing. I don't know why but I get this pinging feeling in my chest, It only happened when she mentioned Rachel...I'm not jealous of THE Rachel Amber.... No scratch that I definitely am. Does that mean... Shit. I told myself I wouldn't get into this love bull crap. But I think I'm falling for Chloe. At the mention of her name and the realisation that I love her came the accelerating heart beat. One word. Fuck. 

I must've blacked out a bit of there conversation, well enough to not hear Max's reply to what Chloe had said. I heard certain words like "Alive? I have to think that Chloe.."but that was about it. "Max, we have to find Rachel soon. We have to..." Again at the mention of Rachel's name I got the same jealous feeling as before, but I shook it off to try and get rid of the feeling and the thoughts that came with it. "I promise you we will. Like you said, it's time to start the search for clues. Now tell us, what's your secret?" Max asked. "Drum roll, please..." Chloe said searching through her pockets in search of something. She holds up a set of keys for Max and I to see. "I present the spare keys to Blackwell. Thank you, step-prick." Chloe finished. "You are such a boss, Chloe!" Max said before continuing hesitantly "I just...don't want you to get into any more trouble..." "Look at all the trouble dropping in Arcadia Bay. At this point, who gives a fuck anymore? We're in it to win it. Max, Lead the way..." Chloe said before the three of us, with me tagging behind sluggishly, made our way to school building. "I'm so glad you're my partner in crime..." Max said to Chloe. "As long as you're my partner in time." Chloe replied. "And Cody. You better be my partner for anytime." "Insert groan here..." Max said, to break mine and Chloe's eye contact, But she was secretly trying to hold back a smirk. 

All of a sudden a loud booming familiar voice could be heard coming out of the school building. Victoria. OF COURSE.. And.. Mr Jefferson?.. "Thank you again SO much for helping me put together a portfolio." Victoria said. Okay well that shut down my thoughts on what I thought they were doing. Max, Chloe and I quickly hide behind a board that was displaying Mr Jefferson's photos, with Max crouched down and holding onto the board for support, Chloe standing behind her and I standing next to Chloe, pretty squished up to Chloe's body as the board was small and I didn't want to risk being seen; luckily it didn't seem as though Chloe minded the close contact, but I could've sworn she was blushing as she had turned her head away from my view to hide it, but then again I think I was blushing a little too. Awkward... Can't say I don't like being close to her though. Okay yep, fallen PRETTY hard for the blue haired badass. 

"Hopefully, the rest of the class will follow your lead. I'm sorry I was...distracted. As you know, it's not been a good day for Blackwell." Mr Jefferson said, bringing me out of my thoughts and bringing my attention onto their conversation that they thought no one was listening too. "I know this has been an awful day and you can talk to me anytime, Mr. Jefferson." Victoria said. I pulled a face of disgust at Victoria's awful attempts at flirting, but not just that, but flirting with a teacher none the less. "Thank you, Victoria." Mr Jefferson dismissed Victoria's flirting and pretended that he didn't notice the flirtatious tone in which she had spoke to him in. "I'm glad it had a relatively happy ending." Mr Jefferson said. "I don't know what I would've done if Katie jumped..." Victoria said, a sly smirk trying to pry its way on her lips, but she held back knowing her innocent act has Mr Jefferson fooled. "Wow so now she acts like she cares. Bitch." I whispered to Max and Chloe, who nodded in approval. ""Katie"? I...had no idea you two were that close. Did she...?" Mr Jefferson asked, But Victoria rudely interrupted. "Well...how does this affect the Everyday Heroes contest?" I could practically feel my anger build up inside of me. That's all she cared about that Bitch.
