Teagan's POV

I hear my sister opening my door and continuously telling me to get up. I thought someone was talking to me in my dream. Oh my god, let's not talk about that dream.

"Teagan! You have to get up!"

"Whaaa" I say groggily

"It's the first day of school!"

"Shiiiiit" I whisper to myself, still half asleep.

Great. First day of junior year. It's Ella's first day of 6th grade, she's excited to be a middle schooler. Oh, if only she knew the terrors of middle school. I guess high school is better in terms of people, but schoolwork and homework only gets worse.

"Alright, alright." I say, finally getting up after Ella's pestering. I get ready, brush my teeth, do my makeup, the usual. Then I go downstairs for breakfast and I see my mom making smoothies and my stepdad frying eggs. My parents got divorced about 2 years ago, my dad doesn't live too far from here, but dear god I hate Mark, my stepdad.

"Good morning sunshine!" My mom said cheerily.

"Gmorning" I murmured, uninterested as I sat down next to Ella at the table. Mark set over easy eggs in front of me as he said "Wow, you're going to be a junior Teagan, you're maturing by the minute. It feels like just yesterday when you were a small freshman."

"Yeah, whatever." I said.

Mark turned away from me and gave Ella her eggs. I saw out of the corner of my eye that my mom was heading over here to give us our smoothies.

"Teagan, this is your first year driving to school, I want you to be careful dropping Ella off at school and for you to be careful in the high school student parking lot, it can be very dangerous. Some teenagers are irresponsible drivers."

"Yeah, I know Mom, I'll be careful, we've been through this."

"Alright sweetie, I know you'll be safe." She says as she looks at her watch.
"Shoot! I have to head to work, I'll see you girls after your first day, you'll do great." She kisses Ella and I on the head and rushes out the door. She's constantly at work, so we get stuck with Mark.

"What time does school start for the both of you?" Mark asked.

"8:30 for me, 8:15 for Ella." I said. It's 7:57. "We should probably get going, actually. Ella get your backpack." Ella grabs her backpack as we head towards the door.

"Okay have a great d-"

"Okay bye!" I interrupted him as I shut the door behind me and got into the car with Ella in the passenger seat. When we got to Ella's school, she seemed nervous.

"Ella, there's nothing you need to worry about, there are like a hundred other kids going through the same thing you are, you have your map of the school, you have your friends to hang with, you'll do great." She seemed to lighten up a little more.

"Wow, I'm starting the real stuff, no more elementary school teachers babying me!" Ella exclaimed as I laughed.

"Have a great day kiddo, remember you're route 8 in the afternoon since I wont be out of school to pick you up." I said.

"Okay, bye Teagan, you have a good day too." Ella said as she got out of the car. I watched her walk inside, then I drove off to the high school, it was me I had to worry about now. I pulled into the parking lot sort of early, early enough to get a decent parking spot. I heard a ding, I open my phone to see a text from Josie:

- Are you at school yet? I'm stuck with Charlie talking about how the guys on the football team got even hotter. Help.

I laugh, replying:
