 Chapter 46- Tommy's Dam

" Whoa," I started, as I saw a cool looking building. " What is that?"

" That is a hydroelectric power plant." Joel told me, as he turned a crank that caused one of the dam blockers to stand upright.

" A hydra- who?" I asked.

" It converts falling water into energy." Quill said blandly.

" How does it do that?"

" I have no idea. I always fell asleep in school."

" Is that going to be our way across?" I asked, as Joel turned back around and opened a door that allowed him to enter a room fool of supplies.

While Joel entered the water, to see if he could find a pallet, I looked back at Quill.

" He did it for a good reason," I told Quill. " He wanted you to be safe while he was gone."

" I know that," Quill said. " Now, I'm not even sure I'm mad anymore."

" Do you think you can ever forgive him?"

" I'm working on it," She told me. " But I'm not ready to just yet."

" Ellie," Joel said, interrupting.

" I know, I know, get on the fucking pallet."

( Quilla's P.O.V.)

After Uncle Joel dropped off Ellie so she could turn the crack on the other side, we crossed, and we both gave Ellie a high-five.

" Aughh." Ellie moaned. " I'm so hungry!"

" I know," Uncle Joel said. " I am too."

" Alright, the next squirrel I see, I'm shooting it."

" Let's get past this place, then we can find something."

" If we starve to death, it's on you."

" Uh," Ellie said, as a gate came into view. " Should we head in?"

" Uncle Joel, I'm getting a bad feeling about this." I told him.

" We'll have to go through it," Uncle Joel told me, as he headed to a shed to loot. " There isn't another way through."

" I'll go ahead and open it to scope the area out. See if there are any surprises."

As soon as I tugged on the gate, a women's' voice calmly told Ellie to drop her pistol, and to put our hands where she could see them.
