And If... He had NEVER done this to us ?

"Honey, wait ! " I stopped in my track, turning around. "What was all that about ? What did he do ? "

I sighed, over with the entire situation. "Go ask your husband, he'll tell you everything. Well, I hope so. And if he doesn't, I'll send you a mail, but right now I don't have the time, I need to get out of here before I attempt murder on this crackpot. I'm sorry, and I love you." I hugged her quickly, then left the house.

RICHARD'S POV:

"Richard ? I didn't know you were coming today. Are you okay ? "

I nodded, "yes, I'm fine. RJ forgot his Spider-man and uh...yeah, I know how much he loves this toy, so I brought it. But I'm not staying, don't worry."

Truth was that I felt lonely at home and I was missing them. Before I could realize it, I was in my car and on my way to Tinashe's house. And now I didn't know what to say to explain my presence.

Last night we fall asleep in each other's arms, after she spent a few hours crying on my shoulder, then I left early this morning and since then we didn't talk.

I didn't know where we exactly stood at and I needed to know as soon as possible. I felt numb inside, knowing that I could actually lose her and that this time it will be her decision to put an end to our story and not somebody's else.

"Uh, you can stay, you know. We were about to start a movie marathon with Tam."

"Oh no, I don't want to interrupt your sisters' slumber party." I quickly cleared my throat, "how do you feel ? "

"Since last night ? Better. I'm still a bit shocked, but I feel better. Thank you so much for letting me cry on your shoulder." She gave me a small smile.

"You're welcome."

"And uh, I saw my father today."

He still didn't contact me, but I knew for sure that he was plotting somewhere. After all those efforts, he wouldn't just give up and let us be happy. He'll fight until his last breath to make sure that we wouldn't end up together.

I'd never understood his dislike though. Why did he hate me so much ? It seemed like one day he woke up and just decided to hate me and make my life a living hell. That I knew of, I did absolutely nothing for him to feel this way about me.

It was just so insane.

"Oh...and how it went ? "

She shook her head, "he's crazy. He said he did all of this for me, to protect me because I was ruining my life being with you. He called Tam and I stupid more than once and said other bullshits. After this little confrontation, I decided to simply cut him off. As far as I know, I don't have a father."

"Wow. It's sad y'all got to this point, but I can't blame you. I think you made the right decision."

"Thanks. Do you want to sue him or something though ? Now we know who was behind this joke, he threatened you all those years and you saw him commit a murder. Who knows what else he's been doing ? "

"Would it really be worth it though ? "

"Yes, we need to stop him. I don't think he's just gonna give up now and we need to do something before he tries to kill somebody. You protected me, now let me do this for you."

I sighed, getting her point of view. True, we needed to do something before he got to come back with something else, but right now I was so exhausted. The season was about to start soon and I wanted to relax before going back to camp. If I was too stressed, I won't be able to give my all into football and so won't give a good performance.

"Okay, but before we do all that, give yourself some time to really think about it. At the end of the day, he's someone you really cared and surely still care about. You're talking out of anger." I didn't want to start this whole process for her to end everything in the middle. I needed her to be one thousand percent ready to go to war against her father.

"Okay, I'll also talk about it with my mother, she can help."

"So, she knew nothing ? " I curiously asked.

"No. My father and I were arguing and she was just standing there, completely lost. By the way, I'll need Fanny's number, so we can talk."

My brow arched in surprise, "you want to talk ? With her ? Are you okay ? "

She quickly rolled her eyes, "I'm tired to be in bad terms with her when she actually did nothing. Now that I think about this, Patrick didn't cheat, huh ? "

"Never. Your father got him the same way he got me. Angela didn't want to let go, so he kind of had to tell her that he cheated. Was the only way to make her go away."

"Mommy, I can't--" RJ appeared behind Tinashe, as he tiredly rubbed his eyes. When he saw me, his eyes grew wide and he instantly got excited. "Dad ! "

I opened my arms as he jumped in them and hugged me tightly. We were always acting as if we didn't see each other for weeks, when in reality we were seeing one another very often.

"Hey, big boy. You should be in bed, why are you up ? "

We pulled away and I put him down, "I had a nightmare. Something happened to someone, but I don't know who. I couldn't see their face." He explained with a lot of worries in his voice.

Tinashe and I shared a look of concern before she kneeled down to reach his eyes level, "what exactly happened ? " She asked, playing with his hair.

"Well, I was--" He started and got cut off by my phone.

"Oh, sorry." I pulled it out my pocket and seeing that it was auntie Suzana, I answered as fast as I could.

"Hey, auntie. Is everything--"

"Richard, oh my God. You need to come to the hospital right now, Nǎinai isn't doing well."

When are we going to catch a break ?
