Challenge Three

Fandom: The Avengers

Character: N/A

Couple: Steve/Tony, Superhusbands

A/N: There's only two. I can't seem to really focus on nicer, fluffier Superhusbands at all, and for that, I apologize! Anyways, I still hope you enjoy! :D

All Of You Tonight – Monty Are I

There was nothing between them.

Nothing.

Lies, his inner self hissed in the back of his mind. Like a snake in a dark corner that laughed at the ridiculousness of the idiotic beings around him. And that idiotic being just so happened to be Tony.

Yes.

He knew it was a lie.

Everything was between them.

Everything.

It burned between the two men like a fire waiting to grow into a beast that would consume the two of them – to devour them whole.

The billionaire looked at the man who lay on the bed – naked form visible under the silken purple covers.

Steve Rodgers.

Tony looked away. Guilt gnawed at him uncomfortably as his shaky fingers grabbed for his cell phone that lay on the floor, next to his bare feet. His fingers ran over the touch screen.

6 missed calls.

It was no surprise. He had been ‘missing’ for nearly two days, and it would was expected for his fiancé to call him. His thumb moved across the screen.

Are you sure you would like to delete these messages?

Tony hesitated. Did he really want to? His eyes drifted back to Steve.

Yeah.

Messages deleted.

He did.

A Thousand Years – Christina Perri

Some people would call him naïve. But Steve wasn’t a naïve person. He just liked to believe in people. They had their own reasons for being who they were, but that didn’t change the fact they were good people deep down inside.

Like Tony.

Tony was a wonderful person. You just needed to look past his sarcastic-tough-asshole persona to see how much of a broken, kind person he was. Even if it was something incredibly hard to do. How Steve had done it was still a mystery to him.

Steve gripped Tony’s hand in his own. Tight. His thumb rubbed circles around Tony’s skin almost soothingly.

He knew this was wrong. They were both hurting Pepper in the process. Pepper – who was so kind, and just a great person over all.

He knew that.

But he couldn’t bring himself to let go of that hand.

He loved Tony.

Loved him so much it hurt.

Steve wasn’t a naïve person. He just liked to believe in people. They had their own reasons for being who they were, but that didn’t change the fact they were good people deep down inside. He just needed some sort of reason to believe that what they were doing was right. Because he knew, and Tony knew, that Steve could never let go of Tony, even if he tried.

Never.
