The blast echoed only a few miles behind as you and your best friend Bucky ran from the- no longer functioning- HYDRA base and together, you turned around to see the mighty explosion. You dropped to the ground beside Bucky, both panting from the sprinted escape and bleeding from various, minor injuries. You turned to Bucky with a tired smile.
"Well, Buck, looks like we'll live to see another day."
"..."
And then he suddenly leaned closer, took your chin in his hand to hold you still, and kissed you.
