CHAPTER 35

The next three weeks are spent by randomly meeting Adi and Shlok, visiting my parents, the office, and of course, Amy. I almost live with her now. Sometimes I go over and sometimes she does. I don't understand how time flies when I'm with her, loving her, making out, talking about things both pointless and deep or just sitting with her, all cuddled up and cozy, in her balcony.

We go to the office together and also have our lunch together, along with Adi and Shlok. Each day, I fall a bit deeper in love with her. She really is an amazing person, with her mind and heart as beautiful as her face.

Some of my clothes are in her wardrobe, as are hers in mine. Needless to say, she has become an important part of my life. The new decorations in my office and apartment are proof enough.

Yesterday was the best, though. She called me in the evening when I was still in my office, to tell me that she is going home early. Normal. But what wasn't normal and totally out of my expectations was going home to a mouthwatering dinner and Amy, who looked equally mouthwatering in her sexy red body-hugging dress.

The dinner was amazing, and what happened after the dinner was even more amazing. We consummated our relationship. I clearly remember Amy's words after we both came off our highs and had calmed down.

"Jai, we made love tonight. And it's a very special day for me. I gave you my virginity and you gave me your celibacy of four years. You know what that means? It means, at least for me, that we're eternally bonded now. No one can separate us. I love you so much! And I'm glad you are the one I gave my virginity to."

Initially, I was so overcome by emotion that I could only look at her with an exploding heart and watery eyes.

"You're it for me, Amy. I love you. I really do. You know, people rarely get second chances. If you're lucky, the luckiest one, then the universe gives you a second chance at happiness. And I feel so blessed that you love me. You could get anyone. But you chose me. And I love you so much more for that."

I fell asleep holding her tightly to me. When I woke up today morning, and she was still asleep, I decided that I'll cook breakfast for her. And as she loves pancakes (who doesn't?) I made pancakes, poured a generous amount of raspberry sauce and took the tray to the room.

She has woken up and was just laying on the bed with a smile on her face, no doubt replaying last night's events. I took the tray to her and kissed her good morning.

And then, after another mindblowing round, we decided to watch the rain pouring outside with a cup of coffee. And that's what we are doing now. The cup of coffee, rain, and Amy. I couldn't be happier.

We both finish our coffee and she goes to keep the mugs in the sink. She comes back and sits beside me, and snuggles closer to me. I wrap my arm around her shoulder and kiss the top of her head.

"You are like a cat, you know that?" I tease.

She looks at me with her eyebrows raised. "How so?"

"Hmm, first, your eyes. They are like a cat's. And then you always snuggling closer to me like a cat. And just now, you purred."

She gasps. "I did not purr!"

"You did, " I tease.

She narrows her eyes at me. "Well, is that a good thing?"

"I guess so."

"You guess so?" she asks, playful.

I laugh.

"You know, " she starts. "I had a crush on you since I moved here."

I smirk at her. "Seriously? I know I'm irresistible."

She shakes her head at me fondly and turns her head back to watch the rain.

But I'm not done yet. "Was it as soon as you moved here? Or after some time?"

She lets out a scoff. "Don't get too ahead of yourself." But the smile playing on her lips tells otherwise.

"It's true, isn't it? You liked me from the beginning," I let out a happy sigh.

She flicks my forehead. "Stop it now!"

We turn and watch the rain, washing down all the bad things, the impurities, making way to new beginnings. It's silent and we are surrounded by the sound of water pouring down, the breeze, the occasional honk of a car, and the exquisite smell of wet mud.

After the rain stops, we go in. There's a video call from Aditya and Shlok.

"Hey man, what's up?" Shlok asks.

"Sky." Aditya has to say.

"You will never stop being lame, will you?" I ask, and hearing this, Amy plops down next to me, still wearing my shirt.

"Hello Amy, " they smile at her.

"Wait, wait, " Shlok leans in closer and looks at Amy's clothing, his gaze lingering a moment longer on her chest. I cover it with my hand. He grins. "You both slept together!"

There are howls and beside me, Amy's cheeks are the color of the dress she wore yesterday.

I chuckle and wrap my arm around her, kissing her forehead, causing another round of whooping.

"Congrats, you two!" Aditya shouts. At this, Vihaan comes beside him.

"Is uncle Jai getting married?" he asks.

Aditya laughs. "No Vihaan. Not yet, anyway. Why don't you call your mom and Rupali too? We could have a get together in a video call itself."

"So Shlok, how are things with Ahana?" Amy asks him.

"They are getting better. She has finally agreed to divorce him. Like, made up her mind that she will divorce him even though he denies. And yesterday she had lunch with me. After so long! I was so happy!"

We talk for a while and I see how my life is taking a turn for the better. And again, I couldn't be happier.
