After that day, Lu Yan felt awkward looking at Li Heng. To be precise, he was feeling scared. He didn't know if it was due to the previous Lu Yan's memories or his lingering emotions, but a mere touch from him made Lu Yan feel repulsed. He even forgot that he was the one who insisted on sending Li Heng in the first place, a way of testing whether he recovered his memories or not. However, all plans were abandoned since the horrific scene flashed and instilled itself in his mind.

Ah Bao, on the other hand, felt that since it was his host's first time feeling such deep-seated emotions from the previous body owner, it decided to stay quiet and let him be. So, he has time to adjust and think things through. Besides, there weren't important events happening for the meantime. But, of course, not for long. The plotline scenarios are about to start, so it only wishes for his host to pull himself together before it happens.

And not disappointing Ah Bao, Lu Yan really did pick up the broken pieces of his guts. Well, though he still felt a bit repulsed every time Li Heng visited him or asked him out, he managed to pull himself up and pressed down the fear that was brewing inside him. Despite being a cold man, Lu Yan felt his heart crushed, trampled, and burned every time Li Heng's touches grazed his skin. Whenever he looked at his eyes, he felt nothing but the pain of betrayal. Why was he feeling as if he was the one that was betrayed and used? He was only a third party transmigrator who never knew him in the first place if it wasn't because of Ah Bao!

With his emotions all messed up, he really gave up on his plan of staying close. Better yet, he decided to stay as far as possible. But it was of no use, as Li Heng was the one chasing him instead. The only thing he was ever thankful for was that Ah Bao wasn't pestering him and even kindly told him that he was giving him time.

And time was really not on his side. After a few days, Ah Bao said that the protagonist met with his bastard friend and the scheming white lotus. He was about to jump in joy as he thought that Li Heng would finally be preoccupied and leave him alone. But it totally crushed his hopes when Li Heng still stuck to him like glue after, as though he didn't meet and had a confrontation with them. He really doubted that he might not have seen them yet if it wasn't for Ah Bao's absolute confirmation that he really did.

Li Heng, acting like sticky rice, made Lu Yan want to stay away from him even more, which was acting the total opposite of what his job is. But who can stop him? Even with Lu Yan not doing his job of monitoring him, he can't help but know everything with Ah Bao's constant reports and Li Heng's increasingly frequent visits, despite him shooing him away. The bastard was actually acting so shameless, making himself all comfortable at his apartment! Lu Yan never felt so thankful for Ah Bao's A+++ gold gift; if not, his face would have cracked a long time ago. Well, though Lu Yan was acting neither close nor friendly to Li Heng, he still can be considered an acquaintance. And as the target of his mission, he really can't just throw Li Heng out of his door without offering him some snack or a drink.

Arghh! Lu Yan, as a man with few relations or, to say, with absolutely no relationship aside from his twin who he considers as his only family, didn't know how to deal with Li Heng and his conflicting feelings for him. He really starts feeling irritated by all of it. He only ever wanted to finish his work so that he can move on to the next. Why was it so hard to even do that?!

But Lu Yan really has no choice since it has come to this. All he ever wanted was to be done with it all. So, he decided to have a talk with Ah Bao.

"Ah Bao, you there?"

"Yes, host! Ah Bao at your service, hurhur~" Ah Bao replied in his head. He really didn't know why Ah Bao likes adding a sarcastic laugh at the end of each sentence. He even asked him before out of curiosity, but what he got was a senseless long hurhuring from him. Thus, he didn't ask nor talk him out about it.

"Ah Bao, is there a way to hasten the plot?" And not beating around the bush, Lu Yan asked Ah Bao straightforwardly.

"Oh, that was sudden! Hmmm, Ah Bao is really not without an answer for that question, but is the host really determined to do it?" Not even waiting for Ah Bao to explain, Lu Yan already answered.

"Yes, I am. I really can't take these alien-like emotions I am having right now, and it's doing me no good being so close with the murderer of the owner of this body and emotions."

"Ok then, if you have decided, Ah Bao will support you." Then after one human and one system entered a long thorough discussion of what Lu Yan must do to finish his work sooner.

Thus, Lu Yan started helping Li Heng behind the scenes, giving him resources to raise him back to the top, and with Ah Bao's assistance, Li Heng didn't find anything weird at all. Thus, with his help, Li Heng started to also hasten his plot for revenge starting with the shameless duo.

Li Heng started smearing Xiao Hai's name in public. Ling Xi wasn't even left alone. Various pieces of evidence of embezzlement, tax evasion, and other cases kept piling up for both of them to handle. Not even realizing that Li Heng was behind it all, as they still assumed that he was still buried in debt with nothing in his name but a ruined company and trampled reputation.

Lu Yan, on the other hand, worked on keeping his distance from Li Heng. Well, he was also busy helping him in the dark, thus the time of them being together lessened significantly. And for that, Lu Yan was very thankful, that he felt he was up in a cloud nine.

With the pressure coming from Lu Yan and Li Heng, the duo can no longer cover up the stains in their name and start losing everything they gained from betraying Li Heng. Even their so-called friends have distanced themselves from them, and worst of all, they were thrown out by their families, saying they have disgraced them, without remembering who lifted them up from the slums they were in before. Such betrayal. Li Heng was really going full force to let them have a taste of it.

Though Lu Yan has not completely approved of Li Heng's ways, he let himself go with the flow as he wanted to hasten the plot and he also thought that both of them deserved it. Li Heng is already doing them a big favor by not plotting a murder. But as the plot mentioned, such a torturous scene will happen soon, giving him goosebumps all over. He really wanted to avoid it! At all costs! But damn he can't!

The strange thing was Li Heng was still acting amnesiac, saying he only remembers bits of his memories; he hasn't recovered it all yet. But Lu Yan thought otherwise; he was sure he remembers. He just wanted to lead him on and use him like he did before!

And when he thought of that, Lu Yan felt his heart clench and ache, the throbbing pain he was feeling from that day never left; it only remained dormant and will only awaken at the sight of Li Heng, making Lu Yan more desperate to go to the next world.

This weird feeling of heartbreak is new to him, but at the same time, it wasn't. It was so weird and confusing! But the nightmare of his death is inevitable; Lu Yan knew he can't change the plot too much. Hastening was already bordering the danger zone, so he can only brace himself and wait for it. A painful truth that he wanted to avoid but can't.
