DANGEROUS GAME

CHAPTER TWO

   "Once again I'm sorry ". She said.

   "No problem. Your life is at stake here" he said and the line went dead.

  Early the next day, Richard was knocking on her door and when Yvonne opened her door, Richard literally lost his ability to speak. Who the hell was this sexy lady standing in front of him with coffee brown eyes and her hair a a rich brown causing his palms to itch with the need to mess it up not forgetting her lovely pink lips begging to be kissed by him. Just before his imagination could get any wilder she spoke.

   "I'm Yvonne and I'm assuming you are Richard?"

Well well well, it had to be Janice's hot tempered friend. What an interesting lady. He gave himself a mental shake. What was wrong with him? He was here for Janice and here he was, thinking about kissing her best friend.

     "You got it right."

     "About damn time you came." She muttered under her breath.

    Yvonne was not ready for the impact the sight of Janice's former boss had on her. She hadn't expected him to be this young. Maybe in his mid forties not early thirties and definitely not this yummy. Color crept up her cheeks when she realized the direction of her thoughts.

    "Come in Janice is in her room she'll be here shortly." She stepped aside to let him in. Soon Janice came running down the stairs and he engulfed her in a bear hug.

"Richard am glad you were able to make it so soon."

"Janice!" He said spinning her around. "How are you feeling? Where you hurt?"

"Humph! I think Yvonne might have exaggerated it a bit. They were armed but they didn't use them."

"But they could have been planning to." He pointed out.

"Exactly what I was saying." Yvonne said, happy someone was thinking like she did.

"I get it. So do want anything to drink?"

"No I'll rather talk about your situation first." He said.

"Well we can talk about that over a glass of wine."

"You say these guys who were stalking you, were always dressed in black huh?"

"Yes."

"We would have brushed this off if it had been a one time thing." He reasoned out.  "But it was successive and abduction is involved so we can't ignore it."

"Exactly." Yvonne said.

"You aren't safe here Janice. You need to go somewhere far."

"Not you too." Yvonne was enough, now Richard too? She expected him to help her convenience Yvonne traveling wasn't necessary.

"This is for your own good Janice"Richard tried to reason with her.

"Bf I agree with him. Even though it hurts to think I'll be separated from you I can't put your life at risk because of my own selfish needs." Yvonne told her.

"You see the problem is that we don't even know who we are up against but they sure know you. That is a major disadvantage on our side. It could be anyone. We need time to do some searching but you need to leave for our peace of mind"

"What about Yvonne, she could also be in danger because of me. I can't just leave her behind." Janice asked. She really didn't want to go.

"I thought of that and I think she'll be fine with my men—"

"Absolutely not. I'm not ready to let some strangers intrude my life" was her response.

"It's either that or stay with me" Richard informed her.

"That's a big NO! No guards and staying with you isn't an option. I can take care of myself. Thanks but I think I'll pass." Yvonne stubbornly stated.

Richard was tired of this childish behavior of hers.

"Look here madam. I'm not thrilled either to share a home with you. The house is big enough for both of us not to see each other if you wish. So just cut this drama of yours already!" He snapped.

"Excuse me. My behavior is no way near childish and am sorry if you can't make the difference." She shot back.

"Cut it out already you two. Quit acting like a bunch of kids" Janice said in a bored tone. She faced Richard.

"This is my decision. I'll go," then she turned to Yvonne "On the condition that you move in with him"

Yvonne was trapped and she knew it. She had no choice in the matter if she wanted to get Janice out of here.

"Okay fine. You win."
