Ahmad knocked on Ciera's door the next door, Zeblen answering the door.

"Oh?" He was surprised to see Ahmad standing there. "Uh, hey Ahmad."

"Was good, Zeb? Ya sister home?"

"No, she's at work."

"Work?" Ahmad looked confused.

"Yea, work. You didn't know she worked?"

"Well, no. We don't talk remember."

Zeblen sighs, he walks out the house, closing his door behind him.

"Listen man, Ciera's been hurting lately. Like, badly. She may act tough when she acts like you don't exist but it really breaks her heart."

Ahmad sighs, rubbing his face with his hands.

"I heard. My mom told me about it last night. It's been fucking me up too," Ahmad tells him.

"Just talk to her about it when she gets off. She should be home around 9:30 since she gets off at 9."

Ahmad nods, getting ready to head back to his own house.

"Oh, and Ahmad," Zeblen calls. Ahmad looks back, "Ion wanna see you makin my sister cry no more. I don't want to have to fuck you up next time."

Ahmad chuckles,

"Aight Zeb."

"I'm not fuckin wit you! I'll run yo ass over!"

Getting home, Ahmad looked at his phone that he left on his bed.

"Fuck you was over that bitch house for?" A text from Kayla read. Ahmad groans. Kayla's friend Blake lived directly across the street from Ahmad and must've said something to her.

"I was just talkin to her brother," He tells her, "Tell Blake that if she's gonna snitch on somebody to know all her facts."

Ahmad tosses his phone down, rolling his eyes. He honestly didn't feel like arguing. Spending his whole day at home, Ahmad played 2k in his room when he heard a knock at his door.

Going downstairs, Ciera was talking to his mom in the kitchen. She was still in her work outfit which was a black pencil skirt, white blouse, with a black blazer. She also wore pearl earrings and black heels to match.

"Oh, look who's here, Ahmad," Dionne, Ahmad's mother, says with a smile. "Ciera's here to see you."

His mom seemed pleased to see that Ciera was back visiting at the house.

"Hey Ciera," Ahmad says, a bit nervous to speak. They hadn't actually talked in a while and it was sorta awkward talking again.

"Hey," She replies, "Zeb says you came by to talk to me?"

"Uh, yea. You wanna come upstairs?"

Ciera nods, taking her heels off and following him upstairs. It felt weird being back at Ahmad's house even though she spent many years of her life in this exact house hanging out with him.

Finally getting to his room, Ciera stood by the doorway as Ahmad sat on his bed.

"So?" Ciera asks.

"I just wanted to say I'm sorry," Ahmad began, "I didn't mean to put Kayla over you or basically throw our friendship away. I jus got caught up in shit and i ain't realize what I was doin."

Ciera smiles a little bit,

"It's cool. I didn't wanna come between you and Kayla or nun but damn, I'm yo bestie. You was startin to forget I existed."

That wasn't close to the truth to Ahmad. Well, kinda. He didn't want to forget about Ciera, more so forget about his feelings towards her.

"So we cool now?" Ahmad asks.

"Yea, we cool."

Ahmad gets up, hugging Ciera. She smiles, closing her eyes. She missed this. She missed being with her best friend.

Hearing a buzz, Ciera giggles, causing Ahmad to give a confused look.

"What?" He asks.

"Apparently your girlfriend isn't cool with something," She says, pointing to his phone. Kayla was blowing his shit up with texts and calls. Flooding his phones with curses and threats.

"Fuck," Ahmad mumbles, turning his phone off.

"Welp, I'll text you?" Ciera asks. Ahmad nods, waving her away so he could deal with his new problem.

Walking out his house, Ciera waves at Blake who quickly leaves from out her window as if she wasn't watching from there the entire time.

"Nosy bitch," She laughs, walking into her own house. Zeblen was still at work and her mother wouldn't be off until another hour. The only person home was her dad, Ollie.

"Dad! I'm home!" Ciera calls, locking the door behind her.

"Hey Cj!" Her dad replies, he was in the living room watching TV. "How was work?"

"Work was good. I just came from Ahmad's house."

"Oh good! You two friends again?"

Ciera nods, smiling.

"But I don't think his girlfriend is too happy about that."

And indeed she wasn't.

"Why the fuck was that bitch at your house??!" Kayla questions over the phone.

"We was jus patchin things up," Ahmad explains, "We stopped talkin cause of stupid stuff and our moms wanted us to talk."

"That don't fuckin matter, whatchu needa be friends wit her for? You got me."

Ahmad huffs silently. She was being irrational for no reason.

"Listen, that don't change nun between us. Cee and I was friends when we first got together. What changes it now?"

"Whatever," Kayla huffs, "Jus don't think you finna spend every wakin moment wit her."

"Alright, baby."
