The phone rings, and it is Jack's mother, Sophia, who is informing him that his sister Ellen has been kidnapped from a parking lot.  Jack is torn apart by this horrible news, remember they all stick together. Jack tells his mother that he is on his way to the estate; because he wants to be near the family during this crisis.  Nancy says she want to be supportive but she rather stay home.  Jack didn't seem to care whether she stay or not, since they are not getting alone anyway.  Jack goes upstairs to pack his clothes so he could be on his way back home to the estate.  He has decided that he was going to take the drive home, instead of boarding the next flight out. He asked, his wife did she change her mind, and she said no, she is not going to take the trip with him. Well, Jack is on his way out of the door, and told Nancy he'll see her when he gets back. She said Okay, then he left and got in his car and drove off. After hours of driving it is near dark so Jack decides he should stop off in a hotel to get some sleep and start back in the morning.  He called his mother to see if anything had changed about his sister Ellen, but there was no changes. He didn't feel right about his mother's answer because she sounded intoxicated, but he got a quick answer from his dad, which soothed his doubts.

The next morning Jack started on his journey to his family estate. It was a cold winters morning, the wind was blowing heavily. Thinking about his sister Ellen, who weighed heavily on his mind, the slippery icy road led him to get into a terrible accident. The police and ambulance arrived at the scene of the accident and discovered how injured Jack really was. After arriving at the hospital, the hospital staff realized how far the crash victim was from his home state. Jack has been in a coma for three days and no one in his family knows, they are dealing with another family crisis; no one has called them yet. It has to be noted, to find out who his family is.  Jack has been assigned a nurse; her name is Susan McClosky, very independent and hard worker is a registered nurse who has been there for nearly ten years.  Susan has made her rounds during the day to check on her patients.  In the meantime, Jack has begun to come out of his coma.  He looked around the room and wondered where he was.  Where is this strange place? Where am I? asked, Jack. The nurse explained what happened to him and where he was, but Jack didn't remember anything about what happened.  Susan told him to take it easy everything will eventually will  come back to him.    It was bitterly cold, more snow began to fall as Jack looked out of the window. There is worst places to be lost, for sure, but he couldn't help but feel uneasy about his surroundings.

Jack started to remember when the ice started to come  heavily along the top of the mountains above.  He began to remember how the icy road he was driving on had his car slipping and sliding along the way. Finally, a car: The headlights approached from out of the gloom as he held up a thumb, still quivering  with the cold. The rain was beating down hard and fast,. As the car approached, he  had an uneasy feeling in the pit of his stomach, His instincts kicked in. He didn't know why, or what it was, but something didn't feel quite right.  While feeling this and thinking of his sister he and the other car collided.
