Never trust a mirror,
For it never shows your heart.
It makes you feel useless,
When you have the most important part.
You are not your weight ,
Or the colour of your skin,
You are not defined by your flaws,
That you try to bury within.
You are your crazy morning hair,
And all the books you've read,
You are the laughs you try to hide,
And the tears you have shed.
You are the songs you sing off tune,
When you know you are all alone.
You are the people you cherish ,
And how you made them feel at home.
You are your paint splattered overalls,
And your three am thoughts,
You are the songs you dance to,
And the silent battles you have fought.
You are your crooked smiles,
And the dreams you live for,
But moreover you are just too beautiful
To be crammed into one metaphor.
