-Ban's POV-

I couldn't sleep. I tried, but without (Y/N), and not knowing if she was safe- I just couldn't. I barely ate, I didn't even drink. I thought that if I were to get drunk then I would just miss her more. The Sins started to get worried, but I didn't care. There was nothing I really cared about anymore at that time.

"Ban! BAN!" "Hm." I tiredly groaned. It was the cap'n. "Listen I get that you're tired- but we need food. So if you're not going to cook we need more food from the market then. So get your sorry ass out of here and shop!"

I growled as I stood up and walked out of the tavern. I yawned, that was all I would actually do at this point. But I honestly don't get why the cap'n won't let me sulk. Can't a man sulk in his own pity once in a while? No? Apparently not.

Once I had reached the market after wandering around aimlessly for a while, I started feeling horrible. I hadn't felt like this since forever... not since Elaine. I felt my throat close up and my eyes started to burn. I wasn't going to fucking cry in front of all of these strangers. Hell, I wouldn't cry in-front of anyone.

I clenched the basket I had picked up till my knuckles turned white. I felt like I was cursed. Everyone I grew too close to seemed to leave me. First Elaine... and now (Y/N). "Suck it up Ban, you're in fucking public- don't you dare snap." I mumbled to myself.

I straightened up and went around the market grabbing whatever I thought would be good enough to eat.

----

On my way back to the tavern I heard kids laughing as they chased each other, occasionally slipping in mud and rolling down hills. It almost made me sick, seeing them so... so happy- like nothing in the world concerned them.

I had grabbed some apples, and other fruits- along with bread and stuff. "BAN!" Jesus my name seems to have been yelled a crap ton recently. "What?" I turn to where the voice was coming from- but she was there. My heart stopped. I immediately dropped the basket and ran to her, scooping her up in my arms.

We were laughing.

I set her back down on the ground, but then got curious. "How are you here? Where did you go? I saw you disappear and-" "Hey- I'm here now- Isn't that good enough?" She asked as a big smile spread across her face.

I smile and nod- she was in a different outfit- a black kind of jumpsuit with red flakes decorating it. She looked beautiful. "Come on. Let's go back to the tavern, everyone has missed you." "I'd love that." She replied, I picked up the basket and we continued walking home.

Yet for some reason, this didn't feel right. (Y/N) had a different presence to her now that she was back. I looked back to her and she was looking everywhere, almost like she hadn't seen a forest in all her life.

We had made it back eventually and as soon as we stepped in Diane and the princess saw her and basically tackled her. (Y/N) looked startled but then hugged them. "Ban?" King left his room and had seen (Y/N). "H-how?" He asked. At this point the cap'n had walked over to us, also inspecting her. "I don't really know. I was on my way back from the market, and there she was." I didn't seem reasonable to me either but I wasn't complaining.

I looked back to her, then I noticed Gowther who wasn't there before, looking at her from a distance, with his hand under his chin like he was thinking. The girls were laughing and talking, but I couldn't help but get suspicious about Gowther.

Eventually I walked over to him. "What the hell are you doing creep?" I asked him, annoyed. "Something is different about (Y/N)." He replied. I felt my throat close again, because I had thought the same thing, and if Gowther thought that too, something must be up. That's when I noticed it. There wasn't the "demon" mark poking out from atop her clothes.

I walked up to her and grabbed her arm, pulling her away from the princess and Diane. She looked confused and stared at me. "What was that for?" I didn't answer, instead I focused on her eyes- in which I saw purple flakes that weren't natural.

I slammed her against the nearest wall which caught everyone's attention. "Ban!" Diane shrieked. "What trick are you playing here." I growled. Everyone's eyes were on us. "ban- i- im not playing a trick..." she answered through gasps of air.

I slammed her against the wall again. "Stop fucking around. You're not the real (Y/N)- NOW WHERE IS SHE!"

That's when she started laughing. "That's where you're wrong. I am the real (Y/N)- I just know my purpose now." Everyone started pulling out their weapons now, understanding what was happening. I kept her against they wall to restrain her from doing anything.

Her skin though, it started cracking and leaving black-purple gleaming lines on her skin. And her eyes turned completely black. My arms started to burn in the areas that I was holding her back with. This was not going to be good. Her arms set on fire and she formed a sword made completely of flames. "This is going to be fun"
