The street lamps light up my neighborhood as much as you lit up my heart.
It was December 1st in our small neighborhood. The snow started to come down in a flurry of white. I had been reading my favorite book and drinking hot chocolate when I looked out my window.
You stood there, in the middle of the street, all alone in the freezing cold. The only thing you wore was a green coat to keep the blizzard at bay. Your bare hands shoved into the pockets of your black, ripped jeans. The black Timberlands on your feet were wet from the fresh snow on the ground.
You had stopped in front of my house, and as if you could sense me looking at you, you looked back. The dim street lamp lit up your ethereal face. I was lost in your dark eyes, the way they sparkled like the snow in the young night. You pulled up the hood of your hoodie, hiding underneath your coat, and smirked at me. Just like that, you continued on your way, into the night. Into the void. The void stretched endlessly, swallowing everything in its path.
I reached my hand to my face, almost scalding myself in the process. How did you do that? My nose ring was the only thing cool on my face.
I whispered to myself, "Who are you?" I leaned back, looking into the abyss. Your face kept flashing blindingly through my occupied mind.
I hoped that soon I could meet you. I hoped I could love you. I hoped you could love me. I hoped you wouldn't break my heart.
On that lonely, snowy night, I fell for you.
On that beautiful, snowy night, I fell for you.
On that lonely, beautiful, snowy December night, I fell for you.
