Humming a little song to myself, I skipped happily down the halls of the palace on my way to see Yamraiha. She had invited me to help out with her spells, so naturally I was very excited.
As I neared her spell room, I could hear the faint and muffled sound of voices yelling. I stopped my humming and slowed to a walk before coming to a stop in front of the door.
One of the voices clearly belonged to Yamraiha and the other sounded like it belonged to Sharrkan. It sounded like they were fighting. Not the playful kind of fighting they usually engage in, but an actual argument.
I contemplated walking in to see what the problem was, but before I even had the chance to make up my mind, the door flew open and an enraged Sharrkan stormed out. "DAMN WITCH B*TCH!" He shouted before slamming the door shut as hard as he could.
I flinched at the sudden loud noise and unintentionally stepped back. Sharrkan huffed and finally noticed my presence. "Oh, __y/n__. What are you doing here?" He sounded noticeably calmer when speaking to me.
"Yamraiha invited me to come help her with her spells... Are you okay, though? What were you two arguing about?" I asked with concern written all over my face.
"Uh, nothing, just stupid stuff. Don't worry about it," he waved his hand dismissively and gave me a smile to reassure me.
I nodded, hesitantly accepting his answer. It didn't sound like nothing, but I knew Sharrkan well enough to know that continuously asking him what was bothering him would achieve nothing. "Okay... I do have one more question, though. What's a b*tch?"
"It's a..." Sharrkan's voice trailed off like he was searching for the right words. "... It's a loyal follower."
"You called Yamraiha your loyal follower during a fight?" I confusedly asked.
Sharrkan stared at me for a moment before replying with a simple, "... Yeah."
"Oh... Well, am I a good b*tch?" I asked and pointed at myself happily.
"Uh... Yeah, you are."
"Really?" I opened the door behind Sharrkan and spoke cheerily, "Yamraiha, Sharrkan says I'm a good b*tch! Do you think I am, too?"
Yamraiha looked at me in shock and dropped the large spell book she was holding, then looked at Sharrkan furiously. "Sharrkan! Stop teaching __y/n__ words like that!" She pulled him back into the room and closed the door before the yelling started again, though this time it was more one-sided as Yamraiha scolded Sharrkan for teaching me a new word.
Whatever confusion I felt before just magnified tenfold. Shouldn't she be happy that I learnt a new word? Especially if it's a complimentary one. A few seconds later, Yamraiha reopened the door just enough for her to stick her head out and smiled at me. "Sorry, __y/n__, could you please come back later? I need to have a little talk with Sharrkan," her voice sounded kind, but also like she was hiding some sort of evil intent.
"Yeah, okay," I nodded in agreement. Yamraiha pulled her head back inside and closed the door again, then began scolding Sharrkan again.
I shrugged, figuring it probably had something to do with whatever they were arguing about earlier. She never did answer my question though, and I wasn't really satisfied with only hearing a single answer from Sharrkan. Maybe I should ask some more people for their opinion? Yeah, that sounds like a good idea, and I know two people who will definitely give me their honest opinion!
