This chapter will be quite different from what you're all used to seeing in this book. It will still have its usual lightheartedness, but it gets a bit more serious later on. It doesn't get as bad as anything like death, but there is a bit of blood involved, so I'm giving a warning to those who are bothered by violence and blood or simply don't want to see something like that in this book. Don't worry, this is a one-time thing and I plan on continuing on with the comedy as usual in future updates! I'm sorry for taking up your time with this, but I figured it would be important to issue a small warning before anything happens. Thank you for reading, you may now continue on with the story!

"Ja'far, can I ask you a question?" I asked as I leaned over Ja'far's desk. As usual, he was completely focused on his work and didn't even lift his head to look at me when he replied with a simple "of course". "Would you like to go out with me? Today maybe?" The scratching sound of the quill pen against the paper stopped as soon as the words left my mouth and the room fell silent. Fearing I had said something wrong when Ja'far still kept his head down, I said, "I-I mean, it's okay if you'd rather stay here and work! I can just ask someone else. Sorry," I went to take my leave, but before I even took my first step Ja'far finally spoke up.
"Wait a minute, __y/n__! When you say 'go out'... What exactly do you mean?" He seemed a little tense when he asked me to clarify, but I paid it no mind.
Feeling a bit of hope, I smiled and spoke with an eager tone, "Well, I'm going out to town today to see if there's anything interesting to buy and I was kind of hoping you'd come with me to take a break!"
Ja'far's shoulders slumped a bit, which I assumed was because he was more at ease for some reason. "That's all? You just want some company while you shop?"
"And for you to stop working for a bit!" I added in.
"Right. But there's nothing else to it? Nobody put you up to this with some secret motive?" he kept questioning me, which made me feel really confused.
"It's not a date, if that's what you're asking," Immediately his cheeks flushed red and I couldn't help but giggle. I learnt about what a date is after reading a few romance books.
"Th-that's not what I was asking at all," He tried hard to keep his calm composure and hide the embarrassment, but the stutter and the look on his face completely gave it away.
I nodded, simply going along with it. "My bad then. So will you come with me? I want to leave in a couple of hours."
"Well, I really shouldn't leave so much work unfinished," I frowned, disappointed by his words. "But... I suppose I can hand some of it off to Sin," I perked back up, happy that he actually agreed to come along with me.
Literally bouncing with joy, I said, "Really? Great! I'll come back when it's time to leave then, so make sure you're ready!" I skipped out of the room to go get myself ready before he had a chance to change his mind. This is going to be so much fun!

"Woooow! I almost forgot how busy this place is!" As I was walking through the streets of the bazaar with Ja'far, I couldn't help but marvel at all the people I could see all around me.
"Exactly how long has it been since you were last outside?" Ja'far asked me with a raised eyebrow.
"I was outside yesterday."
Ja'far shook his head. "No, I mean actually outside. Beyond the palace property."
I wasn't exactly sure, so I thought about my answer for a few seconds. "Um, in that case, I'm not sure... Maybe one or two... Months?" I replied, though it came out more as a question.
