"You're over him...aren't you?" she pondered with questioning eyes.
"Oh for gods sake Abbie, it's been four years what do you think?" I exhaustedly said through my blonde fringe.
No answer.
"You're making me sound like some crazy pathetic stalker, I'm 20 now not some naive, gullible sixteen year old anymore."
After a long, awkward moment she pulled me into a gentle hug. "I'm sorry, I just don't understand why you don't want to go. It's been four years he's probably forgotten about you anyway."
Abbie is my best friend but she can be a complete heartless, blunt bitch at times buts that's why I love her. Not to mention how much of a beauty she was. Black hair. Blue eyes. Basically a clone of Megan Fox.
"I just left on a bad note Abbs. I haven't talked to him or my supposedly 'best friends' since that day."
That day. That one day that changed everything. The day that started an eternal night of sleepless nights and overflowing insecurities. All because of him.
He turned my best friends against me. You would think one phone call just to check how I was doing - but no. They sided with him. I don't blame them. That's how he was. Manipulative. Sly. Evil. After six years of friendship with Ash, Calum and Michael he managed to throw it all down the drain. I should of seen it from day one. But all of that was hard to see when he stared at you with those big blue eyes and spoke those little 'I love you' lies.
Those are bad memories. No one wants to remember bad memories, so I forgot. I forgot how it felt to hear his laugh. I forgot how it felt when he made me cry. I forgot all those moments when he made me feel like the most important in the world because I wasn't. I forgot everything about him. And now I felt nothing.
Nothing at all.
A while after I didn't care that I didn't get a good morning text from Ash.
I didn't care that I didn't get a happy birthday call from Calum.
I didn't care that when I heard a cheesy bubblegum pop song on the radio I had no Michael to laugh with.
And most importantly I didn't care that when I was at the most vulnerable and sad moments of my life, Luke wasn't there to help and guide me.
"Allie? Are you okay? BITCH SNAP OUT OF IT!"
"Sorry bad daydream." I muttered while flashing the well known 'I'm perfectly fine but secretly not but I don't want you to know that' smile.
"So can we go? It'll be a laugh. Maybe Mr. Richards is still the gym teacher." She giggled while wagging her eyebrows.
"I haven't thought about him in an while."
"He was so - wow."
"Yeah, wow."
After finishing my black coffee, I looked around the cafe thinking.
"Okay." A smile formed on my lips and I pretendedly sighed in defeat.
"Is that an okay I will go with you to Panburreys High School Reunion!" Her eyes gleamed with excitement.
"Yes."
"I LOVE YOU I LOVE YOU I LOVE YOU!" she shrieked while pulling my wrist so harsh I thought it would snap off. "We have to go shopping right now."
The rain outside had now died down and the day was now sunny.
Maybe next week isn't going to be a total buzz kill. That is unless he don't show up.
And I pray they won't. Wait Allie - you don't care, if he shows up or not you will have fun. I mentally slapped myself for having that mindset.
You can't lose again, he's won too many times for you to lose again.
