'OH FUCK!' I hissed. 'STUPID TABLE!' I clutched my toe while hopping around on the other foot in hopes it would actually stop the pain. 'Stupid Mondays. Stupid mornings. Stupid Kim. Stupid table. Stupid me.' I ranted, hopping my way into my room. I sat down on bed and inspected my toe. Thankfully it was still in one piece considering the amount of attacks by mean furniture edges. I scowled at the toe.
'This is why I've told you to walk like a girl and not a drunk.' I remember my Grammy telling me when this happened earlier. Wise words, Grammy. But a girl being too girly is overrated.
Gently putting my foot down, as if testing the waters, I went towards my closet and picked out my outfit. Plaid shirt and Capri pants. You can't go wrong with plaid. Or Capri...
This is the last week of school! Yay! Her comes the boring holidays. Ok I'm kinda weird when it comes to summer. I hate school. And I hate the holidays cuz it's too boring at times... So I guess I'm in between. Like an island in the middle of two seas. Like the No Mans Land.
I made myself a quick chicken salad sandwich using yesterday's left over chicken kebabs and waited for my ride. It wasn't long before the bell rung and I met my ride.
'Hey.' I said.
'Hi... Ready?' I shrugged.
'Okay. Let's go then.' He mumbled pressing the G button on the elevator taking us down.
He walked ahead of me to a black Hyundai i30. Eric unlocks it with the remote key and climbs in, gesturing or me to as well. I climb in shotgun and buckle up.
'Nice ride.' I say to avoid the awkwardness.
'Thanks.' He mumbled backing out of the parking slot.
'Your own?'
'Yeah,' he says with a glance my way.
I nod and look out the window.
'Mind if I stop for coffee?' He asks.
'Go ahead.' I mumbled.
He pulled up at Starbucks and asked me if I needed anything. I shook my head. I slumped in the seat. I hate Kim... So much right now. If I cycled I wouldn't have stopped for coffee. And if have been there earlier since I could avoid any traffic but no. She has to get her prince fucking Charming.
I was startled slightly by the sudden click of the doors being unlocked when Eric got back, a coffee in hand.
The rest of my epic journey to school was filled with silence and awkwardness from both of us.
'So how was your morning?' I asked Kim.
'Oh great!' She smiled.
'Good cuz this is the end of your life!'
'Woah woah woah!' I struggled against Derek's grip. 'As much as I'd like to see a real live bitch fight, I need to ask, what the fuck is going on here?'
'This woman is just totally mental! I swear she just came at me!' Kim pouted and fake sobbed.
'Yeah? I could've taken my bike to school and come here faster than you're little lover boy!'
'Oh that's the problem.' Derek chuckled. 'Kim's boys.'
'Yup.'
'Ok you can continue.' He said releasing his hold.
