3 months have passed, its November, the weather is colder, no more booty shorts and tank tops and me and tom have been becoming great friends. We're always laughing and enjoying each other's company, helping each other study, and becoming friends with each other's friends. He gets along with my girl friends, I get along with his guy friends and all of us hang out during lunch. The first 3 months of college has been going by pretty fast and I stress out all the time with schoolwork but having tom by my side has definitely made things easier. He's my best friend now.

We were so close actually that all of our friends would make fun of us and tease us that we were dating. We were finally best friends and I honestly loved that so much. And I know he feels the same way about that. He's an amazing guy but I only see him as a best friend.

During 3rd period we were both talking about what we were gonna do during lunch and we both decided to leave school and get some McDonald's since our school only had Taco Bell, Panda Express, Jamba Juice, Starbucks, and a few other fast food chain restaurants. I texted our group of friends in a group chat we had on iMessage and told them if they wanted to come with us.

Y/N: hey y'all! Me and tom want some McD today anybody wanna come with?

Madison: first of all....yes. And second please don't say McD anymore. It sounds wrong.

Joshua: stfu Maddie she meant what she said. She wants toms McDICK for lunch today 😂

Y/N: omfg literally shut up Joshua that is not true at all. You disgust me 🤢

Tom:.......no. That's my best friend, tf?

Vanessa: woah.....my eyes did not want to read that.

Y/N: DO YALL WANT MCDONALDS OR NOT????

Madison: yes I will go with u guys

Vanessa: I don't eat meat y'all

Mike: yeah I'll stay with Vanessa waiting for you guys in the cafeteria. Thanks tho.

Joshua: I want some but I don't wanna go

Tom: ok. And we didn't have room for u in the car anyways josh

Joshua: stfu u liar 🙄🖕🏽

Y/N: ok see you guys later. dont get too touchy with Vanessa, mike. I know u got a thing for her😏

Mike: 🙄

Y/N: HA u bitch! u didn't deny it!

Tom then looks at me and just gives a small laugh, "you can tell they both have a thing for each other," Tom says and I just nod my head, scrunch my nose and mouth the word "yeah" and smile a little. I wonder what it would be like to date your best friend.

*Tom's POV*

As we drive to McDonalds y/n texts the group chat and asks for everyone's order, those who didn't come along with us. We ordered all of the food and split the bill. While pulling out of the drive thru y/n tells me to park, "fucking dicks they forgot my ranch can u park real quick I'm gonna go inside and get it," I park the car and as soon as she leaves Madison starts talking. "so....you and y/n," she raises her eyebrows up and down twice with a huge smile on her face. "what about us?" I ask. "well do you like her?" She asked with the biggest smile. I just smiled and felt myself blush so I turned around and looked out the window. Y/n is my best friend. She means the world to me and is the best thing that ever happened to me but I don't think I like her in that way. I mean come on, she's my best friend. And that's all we are. I've never thought of us more than that.

I turn back around and just smile, "nah mate, don't get your hopes up."

Y/n comes back and opens the door, "got it. Ok lets go,"

I couldn't help but to think about y/n and what Madison said on the way back to school but eventually I just crossed it out of my mind because there's no way I could have feelings for her. At least, I don't think I can.
