“Well we should head of to the square. The splatfest is going to start soon.” Vincent said. I nodded and we both changed into our splatfest shirts and our other main gear. Vincent on the other hand, wasn't wearing his usual Annaki mask. Instead he was wearing fake contacts.

“Hey, how come you're not wearing your mask?” I began to ask. “Isn't that your main style or something?”

“It is but I like to switch things up a bit once in a while, especially when it's splatfest.” he said.

I nodded to his response and headed out the door.

Once we arrived, the plaza was fully decorated and accustom to the colors of this month's splatfest, pink and yellow. As like any other splatfest, Pearl and Marina were singing their usual song. Many inklings gathered around the plaza, representing their teams. As expected, most of them were couples and the ones who are not are on team Money. I turned to Vincent who was in front of me but facing the opposite direction. He was holding his phone with one hand and the other was dangling free. I assumed that he was messaging his team to know where they are at so that they can play. I looked at his hand that was free. I wanted to hold it with my own. As I approached his hand with mine he turned around. I quickly retrieved my hand and put it behind my back, hoping that he did not see what my intentions were.

“So Violet, my team is waiting for me in the lobby right now. I’m going to play with them for an hour or so then we can have the rest of splatfest to ourselves. he didn't see my actions.

You think you will be ok?” Vincent said.

I smiled lightly. “Yeah that is perfectly fine. I’ll just be playing with other people. I’ll be fine. Nothing bad usually happens to me on splatfest...expect that I always seem to be pair up with bad teammates.” We both laughed.

“Heh well alright, but if anything happen, be sure to call me ok?”

“Will do.”

“Alright then. See ya soon.” And with that, he was off.

A few minutes later I went in the lobby myself. After a half of hour playing, I say that Team Love got this in the bag. We mostly won every single battle. I felt relief knowing that I’ll be getting a ton of sea snails after this...well if I get to Love Queen that is. So far, I’m Love Defender, almost leveling up to Love Champion. It wasn’t before long that another half an hour past. I was nearly Love Queen now. I would’ve continue to play but then I remember that Vincent is probably waiting for me...and I remember that I needed to confess to him but later on. Right now, I got to focus on finding Vincent so that I can get Queen. I headed out the lobby and scanned the area for a male inkling with red piercing eyes. After a few minutes of searching, I still couldn't find him. So I decided to grab a chair and sit at one of the tables and started to text Vincent on if he was almost done. As I was waiting for a response, I rested my head down. I was pretty tired. It was midnight but the night was still young. Despite this, I drifted away to sleep.

An hour must've past before I woke up to the sound of the main firework show starting. There was a lot more inklings in the square now, preparing for the show. I checked my phone for messages...but there was none. I wanted to cry...a lot. Vincent probably forgot about me. He probably got to king title and went home after he did. I got up from my chair and made my way into the lobby. My plan was to play a few more matches until I get to Queen then I will head home, leaving empty.

“Hey Violet! Don't go!”

I turned around as soon as I heard that. I knew that voice anywhere. I saw who said that and I immediately ran towards them.

“There you are! Where have you been?!” I said as I gave Vincent a tight hug.

“I'm so sorry Violet. My phone died and I got caught up with...stuff. I'm so sorry if I made you think that I forgot about you.” he hugged me tighter. “I'm so sorry.”

“Heh it’s ok. You're here now and that's what matters.” I told him. I sighed in relief on his shirt. He still has that sweet cinnamon smell.

“I'm glad we can finally spend time together. Which gives me an idea. Let's watch the fireworks show together. It'll be fun and once it's over, we can do battles again.” he suggested.

“Oh alright.” I said. He nodded, took my hand and lead me in front of the square. We were holding hands...that filled my cheeks with a light shade of pink. Once we were in front, we positioned ourselves to be in each other's arms. It was a sweet moment; just us together while watching the fireworks of pink and yellow explode in the air. “This is it.” I began to tell myself. “It's now or never.” I took a silent deep breath, looked up at Vincent and started to speak.

“Hey Vincent? I need to tell you something.”

“Oh huh? Well so do I, but you go first.” he said. I can see a hint of purple blush appearing on his face and his ears.

“Oh...well um you see uh….” I was hesitating and losing my words. I never thought a confession would be this difficult.

“I like you Vincent.” There was a pause. We were still holding in each other arms but it felt as if we were getting closer and closer.

“I like you.N-Not as a f-friend but you know, like-”

That's when Vincent cup his hands under my ears and kissed me. I was so shocked and flustered. My face was blushing a deep pink now like never before. But I quickly relaxed, closed my eyes and enjoyed the kiss. He then placed his hand on my waist and I put mines on his shoulders to deepen the kiss. His lips were soft just as I expected it to be. I didn't want it to end at all. We detach a few minutes later to catch our breaths but immediately reconnect.

After some time, Vincent finally said “I feel the same way Violet. I love you.”

“And I love you too Vincent.” and I kissed him once more.

“I soon fell in love with someone in the most unexpected way. However I'm glad I did because she is the most beautiful and loveable inkling ever.” he suddenly said as he stopped kissing me.

“Wait what?” I said I'm confusion.

“It's the happy ending to my story. Remember? I said I was going to tell you one day.” he chuckled and hugged me tight to kiss my forehead. I let out a laugh as well.

“You may think it's the end but I say it's a new chapter for you.” I began to tell him. “I say that you got a long ways before you even reach ‘the end’.”

“Heh well if that's the case, then you better play a big part of my story then.” Vincent answered with a slight flirtatious tone.

“And you can count on that.” I said as I give him a peck on the cheek. “Now, we got a splatfest to finish remember?”

“Right. Let's go!”

And with that, we headed off to the plaza hand and hand, winning for Team Love. Now I can finally be part of this concept of love. I don't have to do things alone anymore nor keep things all to myself. I have someone now. Someone who became my lover.

...But as happy as I want this to be, Colton still hasn't given up yet on me.
