Unexpected Love

Chapter 6

Over the next few days, me and Vincent continue doing our routine. We would walk to Inkopolis square while talking about ourselves. I never been so open to someone before. It actually feels nice to talk about the events in my life and my thoughts to someone else rather than keeping it all locked up to myself. Not to mention but Vincent was very understanding and always interested in what I had to say. Whenever I talked about a sad memory that I had, he would comfort me with a hug. His hugs is something that I crave a lot. The way he hugs me makes my heart pound out of my chest and my cheeks turning pink. It felt right. I wanted to be in his arms forever. His sweet cinnamon smell makes me relax with ease. His hugs only lasted a few seconds but I wanted them to last forever. As each day passes by, my feelings for him only grew stronger and stronger. I just love everything about him. His structure, his face, and of course those eyes. I find myself getting lost into his eyes.

We now do turf and leagues together and we even worked at Grizzco. We've actually started to get better in battles to the point where we are winning more than losing. It felt great honestly. Although us working at Grizzco is a different story. Vincent isn't very good at that. He said he doesn't really like doing salmon run. It isn't his cup of tea. The salmonoids always get the best of him and he's actually somewhat scared of them. So he suggest that I do it without him but he would do it with me if I wanted him with me. I wanted him to work with me but I wasn't going to make him do something that he didn't like.

Today though, I can't sleep. I was sweating...a lot. I was basically drowning in my sweat on my bed. It wasn't that hot and I was wearing my usual sleepwear: my sports bra and some black tight shorts that I wear under my skirt. I was rather quite cold actually. I knew why though. I knew why I was sweating. It's because of what happened in turf war in the afternoon. Me and Vincent were placed on opposite teams. Everything was going fine until the last 30 seconds of the battle. I was using my splat dualies and I was trying to get my tenta missiles ready. As I was a few points away from getting them, an enemy from the team spotted me and tried to splat me. I managed to dodge roll successfully and splatted them before they could splat me. That was then someone fell on top of me from doing a dodge roll. It was Vincent. He was almost about to be splatted due to the amount of my team's ink he was covered in. When he fell on top of me, we were in the most awkward position as possible. The tips of our noses were touching and our lips only a little more than an inch apart. We were so very close. I was madly blushing and so was he. Luckily the match ended a few seconds later but it sure didn't felt like it. As we headed out from the lobby he asked if I was still ok and he apologized for what happened. I told him not to worry about and it wasn't a big deal but of course I had lied. I was very in loved indeed. When he fell on me, I wanted to close the distance between us...with a kiss. Although he was wearing his Annaki mask, I still wanted to kiss him. I never would have imagined saying that, but it's true. I love him. And throughout that day, all I could ever think about was wishing for us to kiss at that moment. That's why I can't sleep and why I'm covered in sweat. Love is taking over me too much.

Since I knew that I wasn't going to sleep anytime soon, I went to my living room with my phone and a big puffy blanket. I was oddly getting more and more cold. I wrapped myself with the blanket and lay down on my couch. I turned on my phone and decided to text Vincent. It was 12am but he was a night owl so he should be awake...I hope. Sure enough, a few minutes later, he responded.

Vincent: lol hey. why u up so late?

Violet: cant sleep rip

Vincent: oh dang how come?

Violet: I'm just dripping in sweat for some reason and it's not even hot.

Vincent: oh I see....well do you want me to keep you company then?
