"I repeat, we need to find back up!" Sirens blared as Cassie was lifted into the the stretcher. The polluted air was already starting to close in on the medics, luckily, they had an extra gas-mask for Cassie, the ambulance sped off to the remains of the hospital, and that was the "best" Twisted Future had to offer.
" I've never seen anything like this before! What happened !?" the doctor looked down at his young patient. Cassie was 10 years old at the time of the accident. Her veins were pulsing in time to the erratic pump of her heart. Random bones bulged out of her body, and were the sickly color of pus . Liquidated snot poured out of her nose. She was making erratic movements that resembled a seizure, but those tremors were much more violent.
Cassie's eyes slowly opened to the questioning of her grandfather Archibald.
" What have you done to this little girl!" "This isn't natural!" The doctor's face was beet red in rage.
" I-I-I! " Archibald was shaking in fear, it was that fateful day that Cassie lost all respect for her grandfather whatsoever.
" Sh- Sh-She swallowed some toxic air outside in the metal junkyard!" Archibald sputtered out the first lie that popped into his head. A drowsy Cassie was dead-panned, she thought he loved her, but now it was evident that he didn't care enough for her to tell the truth! It seemed he saw her as a science project rather than a granddaughter. Cassie fought back the tears that threatened to spill out of her eyes.
" Is he really serious." Cassie muttered. Unfortunately, it was much to quiet to reach the ears of her doctor. What really happened was far worse than anyone expected of Archibald. Back then, although, Archibald was not the same man. He let his love for science take over his life, his family, his friends, even himself.
Archibald had taken Cassie down to the house's basement to see if she could find any water in the dirt down there. What she saw amazed her. Archibald had made a full-blown lab in his basement filled with technology that even surpassed their own. Cassie was ecstatic as she looked at everything in wonder, from beakers to bottles to any thing she could get her little hands on.
Archibald gave her a sweet smile and told her to take a seat in a chair he pulled out. Then, his true intentions peaked to the fullest degree, Cassie sat wide eyed in fear, " What was going to do with her?" she wondered. He put barb wire restraints on her body, blood flowed from her, as it did Archibald sucked up with a syringe, all the while with a sadistic smile on his face. Archibald emptied the syringe into a beaker, and mixed the blood with a strange violet liquid. The results were terrifying, the violet liquid twisted around the blood, choking it while transforming into to a teal color. The concoction then bubbled up for a few seconds, but then laid still.
" Perfectly compatible." Archibald giggled gleefully."
" No matter what happens, i can't interfere," The cloaked figure hovered on the ceiling looking down at the scene, "I can't help but thank the doctor for doing this." The cloak figure gave a look that was on the brink of sympathy, but went back to it's steely gaze a second later.
" AAAAAAH!" Cassie screamed at the excruciating pain. Archibald had injected the violet liquid into her blood stream. That, was the true cause of her "mysterious" illness.
Since that fateful day, Cassie had been having her strange, horrific nightmares intensified. She noticed changes in her body too, she was more on the ball, intelligent (Even more so than usual), and had increased strength.
"And that was when it was set in to motion." The cloaked figure muttered, as it reminisced about that day. "Now is it him or her that's actually the monster?" With that thought in mind, the mist dispersed in the wind.
