My fingers shook as I reluctantly set down the papers in my hand onto the table. No one knew I was gay. Of course, they all believed I had a crush on Biana.
My fists clenched unintentionally out of anger and frustration.
The only person who knew about my somewhat small crush on the Vacker boy was Linh. She was the only person I could trust with these feelings.
Okay. I lied. It wasn't a somewhat small crush. It was.. a little more than that. Okay. A lot more.
My stomach boiled with a familiar sense of loneliness. It's funny how you can have a group of amazing friends around you, yet still feel like you don't belong.
I sighed and dragged my eyes down my paper.
I could not believe my eyes when I saw who my #1 was.
My #1 was Fitz Vacker.
Hey, these matchmakers have got taste.
I quietly chuckled to myself and looked for more familiar names.
#13 Keefe Sencen.
#17 Xavier Wyler (a character I just made up who's a wayward from exillium)
#25 Biana Vacker.
Okay..
I instantly started worrying about where I would be on Fitz's scroll.
What if I wasn't even on it at all? What if he has zero interest in me?
I took a few breaths and slowly swapped papers.
I didn't pay any attention to anyone else's names.
I blinked my eyes in disbelief.
#1 Tam Song.
I felt like I was about to cry. This seemed...unreal. For years, it's like he's never even payed attention to me.
Suddenly, I felt an arm wrap around my shoulders. I turned around to see Fitz's gorgeous teal eyes staring into mine. I couldn't help but smile.
