Compassion and Training

Third Person

Owen and Barry started to train the five raptors, as well as testing them. Delta seemed to listen to Barry best. Charlie is always hyper and full of energy. One day she took it to far and hurt Echo. Leaving a scar of Echo's face. Charlie was scolded by Sierra who seems to a strong maternal instinct to protect the younger raptors.

They decided to test compassion, Owen being the test dummy. Wearing a protective arm cover for encase the raptors attacked him. As their teeth and claws are already real sharp. When he first did it with Charlie, he was attacked. But when he did it with Blue she nudged him affectionately in concern. Barry recorded both events.

Anyway individual training was going fine for most of the raptors. Blue being the most obedient of the five. Delta and Echo tied for second, followed by Charlie. Sierra was not as willing to be trained as the others. She was worried about the others and kept looking for them. Most of the time she just fell asleep exhausted from her worrying.

She'd wake up back with the others and check them all for injuries. Before going to her bed and curling up to watch them play. Occasionally she'd join in, but she was more then happy to relax. Making sure they were safe and behaving themselves. She didn't have to step in often as Blue usually kept the other three in line on her own. Sierra only step in if Blue needed help as she thought it best they settle their difference alone.

(Owen's Bungalow)

"I just don't know how we can train her Barry" Owen says with a sigh.

"You know if we don't make progress soon, Hoskins will want her put down" Barry reminds him.

"I know, but she's one of our girls" Owen states and goes into deep thought. "She has a strong maternal instinct and need to protect the others. Maybe if we trained them all together, she'd listen" he suggests.

"But we aren't suppose to start that for another couple of weeks" Barry states.

"True, but it's the only idea I have and I'm not going to let her die" Owen tells him.

"Same, we'll do so tomorrow and I'll record" Barry says nodding his head.

(Next day: training/playroom)

All the raptors were running around playing. Echo and Delta play fighting, Charlie playing with a bowl. Blue had convinced Sierra to play a game of tag and was trying to catch her. While Owen was trying to get all of their attentions. When Blue suddenly stops chasing Sierra and looks up at Owen. She lets out a chirp.

Suddenly Delta, Echo and Charlie run over. They form a learn with Blue and Sierra walks over. She stands beside Charlie. "Did you get that?" Owen asks Barry who nods his head. Training went well thanks to Blue and Sierra making sure the others. Sierra even followed Owen's commands by copying the others. She was thrilled when she got her first treat.

After training Owen and Barry set their reports to Claire, Simon and Hoskins. Claire just filed it, Simon smiled in relief that he didn't have to order the termination of a raptor. Hoskins smiled wickedly as he's plan was falling into place, now he just had to give Simon the idea to ask Dr Wu to make a dinosaur with more teeth.

The park will officially open in sixteen months. They've changed the name from Jurassic Park to Jurassic World. The whole world was very excited about the opening. All the dinosaurs are being trained, implanted with a tracker, enclosures being secured and the T-rex from the original park Rexy has been moved into her new home.

(Owen's Bungalow)

"Cheers to a mission success" Barry says holding his beer bottle out to Owen.

"Cheers" Owen says smiling clinging their bottles and they took a swig. "I think we should continue to train them together. They all seem to obey more and did you see the way they listened to Blue?" Owen asks.

"Yeah, I think aside from you. She's alpha of them" Barry states.

"I thought Sierra would take that job, but she's more compassionate and motherly in her actions towards the others. I think she'll become a mother to them all" Owen states.

"I agree" Barry says nodding his head.

"Also Blue is Beta, I'm the Alpha" Owen tells him smirking.

"What's that make me?" Barry asks.

"Daddy" Owen says and Barry punches his arm while they chuckle.

"Well I am their care taker as well as a trainer. You're head trainer, so I guess that's fine. Just don't call me that ever again" Barry tells Owen.

"Sure man" Owen assures him and they finish their drinks. Barry then returned to his home on the island. Owen was glad that the raptors enclosure isn't apart of the other attraction in the park. Less the distractions for when he trained them there and it's also not far from his Bungalow. That he insisted was built as he did not wish to live in the park itself like the other employees. Especially as he went on a date with the operations manager Claire Dearing and it didn't end well. Besides he preferred the peace of the lake side as it'd get very noisy when the park opens.
