and yerim wonder why ― is it because their relationship ended or is it because jeongguk are naturally like this and he just forced an image of himself to her? he still practices as hard as he used to; he stays back after classes to perfect that same move while she continues to peek from the outside quietly. he is still the red that she fell in love with and is in love with.
you were a vision in the morning when the light came through
and i'm still waking every morning but it's not with you
months have passed, and she is still stuck being in love with him. months have passed, and he is still her favorite red. isn't it strange how i even imagined a future with you? ironically, you didn't imagine a present with me.
"did you hear about it? i heard that jieun and jeongguk are dating."
"really? that's amazing! both of them are compatible unlike his previous girlfriend. there was literally no chemistry between them!"
yerim freezes as her hand stops above the toilet doorknob and as the two other students head out from the toilet, she collapses to the ground, and unknowingly, tears beginn to roll down her cheeks. her chest begins to hurt and somehow, her breathing becomes constricted and she finds it hard to breathe, to even exhale.
as soft and heartbreaking cries escape from her, jeongguk is somewhere else holding hands with the girl of his dreams. just like they say, he is simply a vision in the morning when the light comes through.
he is never meant to stay. he is never meant to last. he is only a vision, a hallucination, that haunts kim yerim repeatedly.
loving him is like driving a new maserati down a dead-end street
faster than the wind, passionate as sin ending so suddenly
loving him is like trying to change your mind once you're already flying through the free fall
like the colors in autumn, so bright just before they lose it all.
their love ended in such a short period of time ― like a flash. all the colors yerim thought they had is only a vision, a dream that is forever unattainable.
remembering him comes in flashbacks and echoes
tell myself it's time now, gotta let go
but moving on from him is impossible
when i still see it all in my head
burning red
burning it was red
all the images of them come flooding into her mind, when jeongguk looks at her across from the room. three months. three months since their break-up, and since his new relationship. standing across one another in the room, yerim spots his intertwined hand with hers.
"are you okay?" a soft voice whispers into her ear, as she keeps her gaze fixated right on him; a nudge against her elbow breaks her train of thoughts as her friend, taeyong, askes again, "are you okay?"
is she okay? she wonders too, since she has no idea what he means by 'okay'. did he mean whether she is breathing, alive then yes, or did he mean whether she is feeling the pain in her chest and the tight breathings?
"i wonder too," she whispers softly, before breaking her gaze away from jeongguk, remembering that taeyong said that time heals pain, but it has been three months, yet the pain he left yerim with still lingers around, like a bittersweet sensation.
maybe it is is impossible to move on from him, whereas for jeongguk, he didn't even have to move on from her, for he is never there with her right from the start.
his love was like driving a new maserati down a dead-end street
"hey."
