"happy birthday, jeongguk-ah!" his members chorus together as they tackle the youngest with unending hugs and kisses, bursting the poppers in the practice room. the youngest, despite being the birthday boy, ends up being the victim on the floor as he gets attacked with his members' love with a smile on his face. thanking his hyungs for their wishes and gifts, jeongguk then glances at his phone lying a few feet away from him on the floor. throughout the entire morning, he hasn't exactly received a message from the person he wants to hear from the most. "she's probably busy," the oldest, seokjin, reassures him, attempting to lighten the mood for the youngest, knowing how important that one message can be to the male. jeongguk simply shoots a smile at the others, before resuming his attention on the laptop before him. since it is his birthday, the male has decided to give his fans, and her indirectly, a gift, to thank them for their unending support for him throughout the years. he then clicks the button 'upload', and watches as his cover of his idol's song, '2u' by justin bieber gets uploaded onto the internet. his mind then flashes back to past few weeks events.
"you were really obvious," jimin points out, pressing the 'replay' button again as the two males watch the video again, with a blushing red jeongguk. "i didn't know that they will be recording," he mumbles softly, his eyes glued to a specific person in the video ― kim yerim, the love of his life.
known as one who is widely afraid of coming in contact with females due to his shy nature, jeon jeongguk has never once been spotted interacting with a female idol or guest directly, apart from his fans. yet, the video of him at music bank singapore seems to defy all logic and reasoning as it catches many fans' attention. started off by standing at the same side of the stage with her, fans pass it off as a mere coincidence but then, it was followed by the youngest trailing after her as she headed off to the other side of the stage, ignoring his hyungs, that caught the fans' attention and curiosity. are jeongguk and yerim, the youngest of red velvet, in a secret relationship? of course, some fans were indeed supportive and positive about the possibility of them being together, whereas there are some who weren't, and it was clearly shown through their comments. some fans of yerim commented on how '[jeongguk] isn't worthy of [yerim]' and that which, the male actually does agree to. being an idol and part of the k-industry, they are restricted to a lot of things, and one of them being love. with him being part of a popular boy group with hundreds and thousands of fans, the one that will end up suffering more in the relationship will be yerim, since some of the fans can get too out of hand.
