"Right here!" A voice yells. I turn to see a short haired brunette (who is also tree sized) and looks to be Asian. I'm pretty sure he's not though.

"Cal! This is Liv!" Ava calls as he jogs over. "Where the hell were you?"

He stops and he grins at me, panting. "Hey, Liv. I'm Calum Hood."

I sort of grin and do a slight wave. Oh my God, he's so hot! Like seriously! His amazing cheekbones and just the way his hair is swept to the side. His biceps, oh Lord Jesus!

Shut up, Liv. You're only here for the summer. I scold myself.

"Liv? You coming?"

I snap out of my haze and I lock eyes with a smiling Calum. "U-um, yeah."

Everyone has already started walking and they are way ahead of us. Calum and I kind of linger back, not bothering to catch up.

"So, what's your story?" Calum suddenly asks me.

"What?" I laugh. "Why?"

Calum laughs back, sending chills down my spine. "I want to get to know you better. All I know is that you are tall, beautiful, brunette, and hazel eyed. Also that you are the great Liv Jacobs."

Did he just call my beautiful? "I'm Liv Emerson. Not Liv Jacobs."

"Sorry, my bad. See! That's the type of thing I would know if I got your story!" He throws his arms around.

I smile and I push back my hair. "My parents divorced when I was eleven. I was actually stupid enough to try and keep in touch with him. He didn't send me anything, respond to my letters, texts, calls, video messages...nothing for one whole year."

I look at Calum to see if he is still listening. He is. He smiles at me and urges me to continue.

"So I declared my hate for him and then he just..." I shrug. "Moved here to Florida and left me in the shadows of Arkansas with my mom."

"That's fricked up," Calum says with a sigh. He rubs his face and nudges me. "So what else?"

"Three years went by and -"

Calum abruptly cuts me off. "Three years?!"

I nod and I continue. "So three years went by and he finally calls and my mom passed on the message that he wanted me to spend the summer with him. My mom practically forced me to come here and, well yeah. That's about it."

"Well," he says as he walks closer to me. "I'm glad your mom forced you to spend the summer with your dad."

A look of disgust displays on my face and I move away from him. "Are you serious? After what I just told you?!"

"No! Don't take it like that! I wasn't finished!" He chuckles but a worried expression is on his gorgeous face.

"Oh. I'm sorry." I bite down on my tongue gently and snicker. "Continue?"

"I'm glad your mom forced you to spend the summer with your dad," he repeated. "Because honestly, I wouldn't have met you."

Aw, that was so sweet! I felt a blush creep up my neck and onto my cheeks. I giggle slightly and I hear a loud scream.

I perk up like a dog, tearing my eyes away from Calum's and sprint after the scream. I hear Calum behind me and I come up at the lake. Michael was doubling over in laughter and Ava walks out of the water and over to Michael.

"You're such a jerk!" Ava pushes him.

"But you love me," he grins as he pulls Ava close to him. He leans in and kisses her.
