It's just a headache!! How many times did I have to tell her. Why did mum have to fuss so much?

I ran upstairs, tears streaming down my face, which was red with anger.

I've just had a hard day at school- mum always has headaches because she's stressed, or tired, or dehydrated.

I heard her downstairs: 'Bonjour,' she says in her excitable attempt at a french accent. The conversation went on, I listened, picking out the odd word. It always takes ages to book me a doctors appointment, because mum has to explain that I don't speak french, and therefore will need an English- speaking doctor. Finally, the conversation finished and mum hurried upstairs, announcing that she has booked me and appointment for 5.50pm.

I spent the next hour feeling very very sorry for myself. First of all, my crush rejected me today... A massive game of truth or dare ended up in me being pressurised to ask him out, surrounded by a gaggle of 40 giggling girls. No surprise, he promptly refused and went back to his football match.

Then, my best friend Maya, who has been my best friend ever since I moved from England and started attending Trocadero International school-two years ago, decided to sit on the 'popular girls' table, with Sofia and Elise. I went over to join them and got remarks such as 'sorry, theres no space for you' and 'only cool people can sit on this table'. Even Maya said that she wanted to sit with her 'other friends' today. Then all this nonesense with the headache

My life has been tough ever since I have moved to Paris. The bustling city is so different to our old country home in Somerset. A whole new language to learn and a new school. I was lucky to get a place in an English speaking International school, else I don't know what I would have done.
